[The time is nigh! Night! That too! You're outside the gates to the city! John's head is empty! How many exclamations can I put in here! Let's find out!] (!!!!!!!!!) [Y'all just took down a couple of not-particularly-alert guards, one being more alert than the other. They're bound and gagged at your feet. Before you is the city gates, but they're closed. It looks like with a good amount of muscle power, you can open them, though. Probably. Assuming it's not barred from the inside or something.] ( John gibs on the spot. ) (Blargh, I am dead!) [Wall's ten feet high, and stone, because Tairan's ex-clan is full of nut-jobs, but we already knew that.] [Session Start.] * Jinx has been checking out the door for a bit, and tenatively tries to find a good place to push from once the others get to the door. ... okay. Usually, there aren't guards inside the door. Especially at this gate. So we open the door, get the horses in, close it, then get the hell outta sight so I can get my bearings. * Jinx puts away his pistol for the moment, only keeping his tomahawk out as he prepares to push. "Right.. let's do it." [The awake guard throws a few muffled curses your way, but by now, it's probably background noise.] * John brings Hazel over. Man, he *IS* a portable armory. Anywho, he also runs a double-check on the dynamite. Dude, explosives are dangerous stuff... Don't want it to blow up in your face. * Tairan gets into position himself, shaking his head at the guards. "They're loyal, I'll give 'em that." (John, demolitions roll.) 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for John (2d6-2) and gets 9. [John doesn't see anything wrong with the dynamite.] * John shrugs. "Okay, ready. Let's get inside." (Mweh. Heh. Heh. Wanna play with fire, do ya...) (Well, if anything, I'd think it'd be too long a fuse...) * Tairan motions for Jinx to give the signal for when to do the pushing/lifting/whatever it is they have to do. * Jinx nods and gives it once John is in position. * John pushes. (Roll it, boys! Sekrit modifier.) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Tairan (2d6) and gets 7. 2d6-2 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for John (2d6) and gets 7. 2d6+2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jinx (2d6+2) and gets 6. [You PUUUUUUSH... the gate begins to give way. Gimme another roll.] 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for John (2d6) and gets 10. 2d6+2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jinx (2d6+2) and gets 14, a CRITICAL FAILURE!!! "Sorry, I don't take bribes. No, not even chocolate. No, not kinky sex acts, either." (dr2) (... we are WEAK.) 2d6+2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jinx (2d6+2) and gets 9. (Your moves are horribly lame.) (I can't believe you're being defeated by a gate. :P) (... You're the one making us make straight rolls, Ard. :P) (You don't know that. ^^) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Tairan (2d6) and gets 4. [John begins to tire, and so does Jinx, but Tairan picks up the slack with his MANLY! muscles of might and pushes the gate open enough for you to get in.] * Tairan grunts as the doors give way, then pokes his head through, looking around for any guards/passersby/security cameras. [There are no security cameras, the kiddies are tucked in their beds, and oh look, there's a guard walking by on patrol. Not looking in your direction, though.] ( How far away? ) * Jinx wipes the sweat off his brow and then runs a hand through his hair. Then he grabs his shotgun and puts his tomahawk away. He tries to find some shadows until Tairan leads. (Say about fifteen feet.) ( Walking away, parallel? ) * John sighs softly, and gets Hazel to follow him in. * Tairan raises a hand up to signal the others NOT TO MOVE. * John doesn't move? * Jinx also keeps still. (Walking by. Right to left.) (Tairan's in front, right? Gimme a stealthy like ninja roll. Concealment.) 2d6-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Tairan (2d6-1) and gets 6. ( *hopes that the average Hoshimoto soldier has not too much Mind* =P ) [Tairan ducks back, but unfortunately this guard's a bit more awake or alert than the other two were. He looks right, then left, then frowns and brings his spear into a ready position and stalks closer to the gate.] * Jinx waits behind Tairan, ready to grab and put a hand over the guards mouth if he comes within 7 feet. * John keeps back as well. He's ready to pull out guns and threaten if need be. * Tairan motions for the others to stand back and draw their guns, draws his, then stage whispers so the approaching guard can hear. "You idiot! If we get caught goofing off, Lord Hoshimoto'll have our asses!" [You all duck out of sight. You can't see him, he can't see you. But you do hear his footsteps stop.] * Jinx keeps his gun out and straightens up, making noises appropriate to coming to attention. * Tairan stage whispers s'more. "If I get latrine duty because of this..." * John draws his weapons and plays along. And if you screw up Tairan... * Jinx mumbles something weak sounding, too quiet to be intelligible or to give any accent. [You hear a few more steps, this to the side. The guard comes in view of John... seems he's trying to peek through the sizeable crack in the gates.] (Better gimme a sneaky like ninja roll, John.) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for John (2d6) and gets 12, a CRITICAL FAILURE!!! "Maybe you should consider sacrificing some barnyard animals?" (... Dude.) [John tries to hide, but his teeth give him away! TING!] (* smashes Ard's face in.) (Hey, at least I looked good failing.) (*kills John, because she's the GM and can do that*) [The guard, sadly, is NOT blinded by the teeth. "Who's there!" he demands as he points his weapon forward. "Show yourself, Westerner!"] (How big is the crack in the gate?) (Big enough for you to easily fit through, sidewise.) ( Oh, you mean the 'crack' as in where we opened it? ) (Yup.) * John looks to the other guys quickly for a quick nod or shake of the head... * Jinx watches Tairan and as grabbing a guy through the cracky isn't practical, he plans instead to smack the guard with the butt of his shotgun if Tairan moves to attack. (For the record, guard boy's about five feet from the gate. Unless you're elastic man...) [You hear muffled yelling from behind you.] * John backs up so the gate blocks his location. * Jinx prepares to hit the guy if he sticks his head outside. As that's possible. (Entirely possible!) (VERY possible.) (Com'on... follow the shiny teeth.) * Tairan shakes his head, and spares a quick glare at John before stepping out into view of the crack, gun drawn. "No Westerner. Just me." (We should just hide in the darkness for like twenty seconds, then walk up behind him as he goes away and blackjack him. Oh, wait, wrong game. ) (Heh.) Guess you caught me. Good job. Well, I'll be going. * Tairan holsters his gun, turns around, and starts walking away. [The guard steps forward at the yelling, then freezes when he sees Tairan. His eyes go wide, then he stutters, "H- hey, wait a second!"] * Tairan doesn't even look back. "Why? I tried to sneak in, you caught me. No sense wasting more of your time..." [He chases after him. "You were exiled under punishment of death! Under our laws, I have to arrest you..." He sounds a little less sure of himself.] * Tairan mutters. "Defenses better than I remembered..." * John gets by the door. He stands there, waiting for the guard to come out so he can hold him at gunpoint. ( Thank you, Inept Guard Principle. ) (The IGP?) (Sneaky rolls, John and Jinx.) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for John (2d6) and gets 6. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jinx (2d6) and gets 7. * Tairan blinks, and slows a bit, looking back. "Arrest? Oh yeah, that whole exile thing. Damn, forgot about that." * Jinx glances at John and keeps his gun held up, if the guard swings around or tries to attack, he'll swing. * Tairan slaps his forehead. "I've been so forgetful lately..." [The guard stops right before the gates out, but does *not* step through. He looks confused. Who can blame him?] [Behind you, there's more cursing. That guy's having a field day.] * Tairan holds his hands out in front of him. "Guess I really screwed up now, huh? Well, I promised I wouldn't come back, and I did. Guess you gotta arrest me." * Tairan even gets down on his knees. "What a way ta go..." * Jinx then seems to change his mind and hangs his gun on his back, and changes his stance prepared to grab the guy with a hand over the gaurd's mouth should he step out. All those battles, and I'm done in by a crappy memory... and I was just coming back for my lucky shirt, too. * Jinx also grabs his tomahawk while he's at it. He's got no real skill with it, but it won't matter if he can hold it to the inept's throat. [He continues to look confused, but squeezes through the gate anyway. "Well, if you'll come quietly..."] * Tairan chuckles bitterly. "Guess that's what happens when you take a few too many hits to the head... oh, I'll come quietly. I may not like the old man, but I'm not gonna go back on my word." * Jinx goes just as soon as he gets the chance, trying to grab the man from behind and hold him still. [full attack, say when to roll it] * John clicks the gun and aims it at the guard's head as Jinx does that. (Readied action.) (Okay, roll a full attack, Jinx. -2 is full, so you know. Unarmed (grabs).) 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jinx (2d6-2) and gets 4. [Jinx tries to grab the man, and he evades it - must be them fancy martial arts - but John's gun gives him plenty of reason to pause. So he does.] * John talks nice, quietly, and slowly so the guard doesn't do anything stupid. "Don't. Say. A. Word." * Tairan quickly stands and draws his own pistol, maneuvering to cut off the guy's escape back inside the gates. "For example... I promise that, if you drop your weapon and be quiet, you'll have nothing wounded but your pride." [The man growls and stares at Tairan. His knuckles are white as he clenches his spear.] * Jinx looks at his tomahawk with disappoint and shrugs then tries to grab the guy again. ['nother full attack] * John keeps his gun at the man's head while Jinx gets up. He smiles. 'Ting! C'mon, man, don't try'n be a hero. I don't wanna hafta hurt ya... my beef's with the old bastard, not average soldiers like you. All I want is my lucky shirt. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jinx (2d6-2) and gets 9. (dr3) 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jinx (2d6-2) and gets 5. [He's plenty distracted, and Jinx clubs him over the head. Down he goes.] ... right. Next time we do sneaky, John, we're tying a blanket around your mouth. My mouth was closed... Well something went flashy, and it wasn't my sunny demeanor. * Jinx shrugs. "Let's get a distraction going before we have a pile of guard bodies out here." He waits til Tairan enters then slips through himself. Doesn't matter. Let's tie this guy up and get goin- where are you going, Jinx? * John nods. He, of course, loots the guard and ties him up, dragging the guard over with the others. I take it the concious guard is still being very 'vocal' thru his gag? [The guard had a spear. Take the spear? Y/N.] (Y. Can I get Portable Armory?) He's on patrol on the inside. Good chance someone will notice he's missing in a bit. We should get moving soon. (Not right now you can't.) (Awww.) ... point. Let's get the horses, get in, close the gate, then move. (And hurry up. I'm getting impatient.) * Jinx nods. "After you Tairan." (You losing the race to Brett? :P ) * Tairan goes in and, once the others are in, moves to start closing the gates. * John hides the spear in some brush on the side. He then leads Hazel thru the gates. (That is unless someone objects. :P) * Jinx helps Tairan once he's in. (I can't lose! Must win!) * Jinx doesn't object. * John helps Tairan once he's in as well. * Jinx gets out his shotgun again once the doors are closed. * John leaves his weapons holstered. Go lightning draw! [You're in the city! It took you long enough! It's quiet and dark, as expected at night, when all the righteous people are in bed. Dude.] (* Grysar considers getting Jinx lightning draw to save on all this weapon swapping. Naww...) (Word. Sewer surfing.) * Jinx watches Tairan expectently and follows him once he gets moving. * Tairan waves the others over to some sufficiently shadowy place that isn't right outside someone's window where whispering can be heard. * John listens. How many sounds are there going on right now? * Jinx comes along and tries to stay hiden. * John comes along too, bringing Hazel with. [Not many. Creatures of the night- er, ones besides zombies. And your horse!] (Perception checks.) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for John (2d6) and gets 3. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jinx (2d6) and gets 4. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Tairan (2d6-2) and gets 6. (Your skills are no good here. :P ) [Tairan doesn't hear or see any guards. John and Jinx hear muffled cursing from back at the gate.] * Jinx looks vaguely amused as he waits for Tairan's instructions. * John looks kind of amused as well. Instructions? : _ ( Tairan's instructions for this period are as follows. Jinx: Invest. John: Cultivate. Everyone who works gets 50 gold! ) * Tairan gets them to such a place, then motions for the others to huddle around while he whispers. "OKay, I'd rather nobody actually got blown up, and I don't wanna burn the city down... hmm. * Jinx whispers. "Pick a spot where it's just stone walls." 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Tairan (2d6-2) and gets 4. (Sides, everybody knows, Dynamite doesn't cause fires that burn down cities, cows do) (Moo.) (Diablo 2 teaches you that.) *whisper* Even though there's clearance between the walls and the city proper, the grass might spread the fire... s'not too dry, though... crap. * John whispers. "I'm going to need to lay some gunpowder as well. A dirt area would be best suited for this." *whisper* Okay... lay it as near to the road as you can while keeping it relatively out of sight. Road's stone, so that'll help. Closer to the wall is better, too. * John nods. "This location, correct?" Pretty much. And please double check the fuse before you finish. *grins* * Jinx rolls his eyes and then whispers. "Let's just get it done, what happens happens, pick a spot carefully, but ultimately it's dynamite. It's just a matter of luck of the draw keeping anything from happening." He silently raps a fist against a nearby wall as he says the last bit. * John smirks. "Of course." * John looks for a suitable spot. Does he find it GM? (Y/N) ( If the "Good No Burn Down City" spot is different, just describe a good spot. =P ) (I thought you guys were laying it next to the castle walls for some bizarre reason. ;P) ( * Jinx has been consistently confused about that, but he's stopped caring. :P ) (Wow. John too.) [John finds... a suitable spot? It's an untended area not far from the city gates. Packed dirt and everything, except for a few shrubs... seems the soil's unusually bad. Must remind him of home.] * John looks for scouts (which shouldn't be coming by) and starts laying the TNT. Only one stick should do it. One big stick. ( John finds a big red X on the ground. ) ( The walls in the malls are totally totally tall... ) (Someone been playing too much Counterstrike?) ( I love how someone sneaks into the compound to paint the X so someone else can sneak in to put down the bomb :P ) (I know. :P) 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jinx (2d6-4) and gets 1. [He puts the dynamite down! Wow, John *can* do something right.] * John was also meaning to set the fuse for 4-5 minutes. <.< * Tairan keeps an eye out for anyone or anything coming near... (Picky, picky. Demolitions roll, John. Tairan, give me a perception roll.) 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for John (2d6-2) and gets 6. * John also triple-checks that fuse. Geeze, Tairan's so picky...) * Jinx makes a hurry it up gesture to John. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Tairan (2d6-2) and gets 6. (Gimme another demo roll, John.) [Tairan doesn't see or hear anything. Blind and deaf or just right? You decide!] 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for John (2d6-2) and gets 5. [John finds he set the fuse a little shorter than intended. By about a minute.] * Tairan stays silent while John does his thing. No distracting the man what is handling the high explosives. * John pads the fuse to at least 4 minutes, maybe a little longer. He looks over to the other two for an okay to set it. * Jinx nods, fervently. * John gets Hazel ready to move. Com'on Tairan, are you paying attention? * Tairan nods as well. "Once you light it, we make towards the castle gates. Troops'll be rushing to these gates via the main road, and that should include the guys from around the castle gates." * John nods and lights it with a match. "Let's move." We just gotta stay the hell off the roads, and as away from houses as possible. * John nods. "Move along the walls." * Jinx makes note of this and runs after Tairan as soon as he moves. * John runs after Tairan as well, Hazel keeping pace with him. * Tairan runs, trying to follow a path towards the castle gates that meets the aforementioned criteria: away from the road where the onrushing troops will be coming from, and as away from the houses where sleeping troops might be streaming out as possible. [The gunpowder sizzles and crackles and you all run like mad chikins and then give me two body rolls, the first at -2.] * Jinx does that too, except he has only a partial idea of the criteria and focuses on following Tairan. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jinx (2d6-2) and gets 7. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jinx (2d6) and gets 5. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for John (2d6-2) and gets 5. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for John (2d6) and gets 5. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Tairan (2d6-2) and gets 8. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Tairan (2d6) and gets 7. (Jinx, reroll the second one.) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jinx (2d6) and gets 8. (Jinx, you are a dead man. :P) (*grin*) (Or not? Oh, wait, you got a HIGH body.) (How'd you think he's lived this long? :P ) (Heh. :P) [The wall EXPLODES, almost exactly on time, stone showering the area. Tairan is thrown to the ground by the entire world shaking, but Jinx and John manage to retain their balance. You all hear yelling and doors being slammed open.] * John helps Tairan to his feet as he moves. "Com'on man, we can't wait!" * Tairan curses silently, then picks himself back up and leads the others into the shadows, away from people as much as possible. * Jinx grins at the explosion and then keeps moving. * John keeps moving. Into the deepest darkest shadows. * John makes sure Hazel's still with him. ^^; (Stealthy roll. Uh... +3 for John. +1 for the rest of you mooks.) (It's opposed, so don't panic. Too much.) 2d6+3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for John (2d6+3) and gets 9. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Tairan (2d6) and gets 5. 2d6+1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jinx (2d6+1) and gets 5. [You run into the DEEPEST DARKEST SHADOWS, and people run right by you without even looking in your direction. You could look back and see what's going on, but you're not, so I'm not going to tell you!] * Tairan waits for the people to go by, then leads the others foward, still trying to keep to the shadows and moving until he's in sight of the castle walls, where he can (hopefully) figure out how they're gonna progress from there. * Jinx grins a bit more at all the excitement, he seems to be rather enjoying this. [You move and move and moooove, not quite like cows. The city's in an absolute panic.] * John smirks and he speaks quietly. "Just like planned." [Above it all, you can hear guards trying to keep order, but it's hard going for them.] * John nods. "To the stables or the castle?" Castle. Horses do us no good without people ta ride 'em. * Jinx nods. "Castle. First we find out if they've been captured." * Tairan nods, and keeps on moving the group towards the castle, same tactic as before, trying to get in sight range of the castle walls to formulate a plan. * John nods. He follows Tairan. (We're bobble-heads.) * Jinx follows, he keeps his eye out for any ways in as he does so. (So, don't suppose there's a secret entrance to the castle with a big flashing neon light? ) 2d6+1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Tairan (2d6+1) and gets 10. (Gee. It's a CASTLE. It's not like you're going to miss it. :P) [The castle crit-succeeds its stealth roll and- nope, nope. It's there. And there's more than a few guards running out of it.] (Ah, so it's not only a model? ) * John considers having fun with his *other* piece of TNT, but quickly decides against it. * Jinx whispers. "Wait a minute to see if there's a lull, and rush in then?" * John looks around for guards guarding the gate. * Tairan gets the group set up in the shadows, then eyes the castle. He whispers, "Okay, emergency plan is for the guards to rush to the city gates to keep invaders from getting into the city proper, then falling back to the castle gates if necessary. Which *should* mean we have a decently clear path into the castle, once the guards finish streaming out." * John nods. * Jinx nods and goes into a bit of the crouch, the better to run in when he gets the chance. * Tairan waits for the stream of guards coming out of the castle to subside, and keeps an eye out for any stragglers nearby. * John listens to the VERY LOUD racket the guards are probably causing. [It's very loud, yes.] ( Alright, so once we're in, we find the prisoners, and then set off the castle's self-destruct system. ) (While we run out, making it out just as the castle explodes in a glorious fireball right behind us.) (What's with guys and explosions?) (We can't always use guns?) (*_*) ( It's a metaphor for manliness. Kinda like phallic symbolism lite. ) [Eventually, the stream of guards trickles out a bit. There doesn't seem to be anyone, and the gates are open.] * Jinx makes a run for it. * Tairan runs with Jinx. * John mounts Hazel while moving and makes a run for it, keeping low on her. [So much for stealth. Y'all run through the gates and hear, "What's your business here!" Someone takes a stab at John with his spear as he rides past!] 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for John (2d6-2) and gets 6. (And haw, just because you're in my channel doesn't mean you get away without combat. Roll init.) d6+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jinx (d6+7) and gets 12. d6+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for John (d6+7) and gets 9. d6+7 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Tairan (d6+7) and gets 12. [John tries to edge Hazel away, and nearly succeeds, but his leg is grazed anyway, cutting a nice gash into his leg.] * John winces as he rides past? [The guard whirls as John rides by and yells, "The castle's under attack!" Two more guards move to intercept him.] ( Wait. I thought we didn't see any gua- oh, they were inside the castle? ) [Order: Jinx, Tairan, Guard1, John, Guard2, Guard3.] (Give the man a cupie doll.) (I didn't know we were entering the castle?) (You were entering the castle gates. Wall, courtyard area, keep. You know how it works.) * Jinx fires off a pot shot at the guards moving to intercept John as he dashes inside. (Yeah. Okay. And there are apparently guards there, right? Okay.) 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jinx (2d6-4) and gets 5. (Inside the wall, yes. You guys don't have X-Ray vision. Nobody bought that spell.) (Curses!) ( Darn sneaky GM! ^_~ ) [Jinx shoots... he scores! The guard that sliced at John as he ran by is slugged in the back by both... uh, slugs. He screams, and down he goes.] [Jinx is now closer to the gates, but not quite there. John was mounted, after all. Tairan!] * Jinx doesn't even bother to glance back at his victim. (Fortunately, we don't have to deal with all the guards outside. Battle fury and all that noise is such a wonderful thing. ^_^) * Tairan runruns towards the gates and the fight, drawing his gun and Mikoto's sword as he does. [Guardo Uno steps forward and brings his naginata up to John's pretty torso.] (Um, isn't guard one down?) (Nope. That's guard three. Now be quiet.) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for John (2d6) and gets 5. (Nooo! Not guard three! His delightful antics and dry wit were a boon to guards everywhere! ) ( Heh! ) (They WERE. And you KILLED HIM.) (BASTARDS.) ( Session Title: A Requiem for Guard #3. ) (Actually it was all Jinx. And he happens to know who his parents were. :P ) (Okay!) [John edges Hazel *just* out of the way, the naginata cutting a little close for comfort.] [And now it's his turn. Revenge?] (You bet.) * John brings Hazel around, drawing both pistols in an instant, crossing them, and aiming for each guard's head while firing, all while moving away from the guards. (Called shot, both.) 2d6-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for John (2d6-1) and gets 6. 2d6-1 * Dicesuke throws the bones for John (2d6-1) and gets 8. (And remember to make that riding roll...) ( Heh, so much for mercy. :P ) 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for John (2d6-4) and gets 3. [The first guard manages to move in just the right way so John's shot doesn't do more than go past him and into the wall. The second... doesn't, but it's okay, because John misses anyway.] (Dangit! That didn't look nearly as cool... oh well. At least I'm out of range of guard 3 now.) (Or guard 2.) (We're all out range of guard 3 now. ;_; ) (;_;) [Guard 2 doesn't seem particularly happy about this and yells. He looks as though he's about to charge John, but the cowboy rides out of range. He turns and sees Tairan, however, and charges him instead!] [The guy slashes at Tairan with is katana! And misses! It sucks to be him, because it's...] [Guard 3's turn. He'll be missed. ;_;] [Now it's Jinx's turn.] * Jinx keeps running as he cracks open his shotgun and stuffs in two more shells. [Jinx is now in THE GATES. About time, slowpoke. Tairan's turn!] * Tairan slashes and fires at the guard, trying to put him out of comission while avoiding any blatently vital areas. "Sorry 'bout this, man..." 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Tairan (2d6-2) and gets 1. 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Tairan (2d6-3) and gets 6. ( Not the legs! Please god not my beautiful legs!) (Legs are gone...) [The guard parries the slash, but is caught completely offguard by the pistol, and the bullet tears through his shoulder. He yells in pain, but is still standing.] [The naginata-weilding guard gives up John as a lost cause and also runs over, taking a swipe at Tairan. Who needs a defense roll.] 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Tairan (2d6-2) and gets 2. [Tairan brings up his katana to block, and there's a nice clang of metal on metal.] [John's turn!] (Sweet!) (For the record, both guards are in melee with Tairan.) (But not Guard 3. ;_;) * John comes around again, aiming at both guards fighting with Tairan, unleashing a pair of shots at them. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for John (2d6-2) and gets 1. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for John (2d6-2) and gets 7. 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for John (2d6-4) and gets 3. [John does not fall off his horse! In other news, the naginata- wielding guard hears the shot and moves just in time. The katana-wielding one... well, he's not so lucky. The bullet goes through his back, and he collapses.] [Jinx is up!] * Jinx just runs. He's heard enough about fortifications to think that staying in their gate areas is a bad idea. [Tairan!] ( Whoo! Goooo Naginata!) (*shoots Eri.) ( x.x) * Tairan makes with the shootin' and then the slashin', again trying to just incapacitate the guy, not kill him. "Still really sorry about this..." 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Tairan (2d6-3) and gets 6. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Tairan (2d6-2) and gets 6. [The man moves to block, but the shot hits him in the chest, knocking him off balance just as Tairan slashes downward with the sword. He's dead, Jim.] (And yeah, I know you meant to incapacitate. ^^;) * Tairan curses as the guy gets hit in a way he didn't want, but presses on, motioning for the others to follow as he heads for the prison. * Jinx does so, keeping his gun pointed safely away from Tairan's back as he runs. * John keeps moving with Tairan, pistols reloaded and holstered. * Jinx doesn't really seem affected either way by the carnage, he's still got a bit of his grin from the excitement, but it's no larger than it was a minute ago. * Tairan reloads his pistol as he runs, keeping an eye out for more guards, still cursing softly under his breath. [You scoot, hopefully before someone else heard the commotion! Perception checks, peons.] 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jinx (2d6) and gets 8. 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Tairan (2d6-2) and gets 9. (* Jinx does not escape serfdom ) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for John (2d6) and gets 5. [John hears someone distantly yell, "They're running for the west enterance!" from behind them.] ( No we're not, we're running for the jail, silly! ) [As you keep running, you enter a garden. Delicate flowers, a nice, combed sand area, and carefully tended koi ponds.] * John nods. "The guards are moving to cover the west enterance." (Duh. That's on the west sieeeede.) * Jinx snorts as he runs. "Classy, I should raid places that aren't in ruins more often." * John chuckles as he keeps riding. Well then, let's get in and out of the jail fast, and get ourselves to the east gate, ne? Yup. * Jinx keeps moving as fast as he can. He figures that speaks for itself. [You guys trample the nice garden! I hope your boots get wet and sticky!] (And since I'm the GM, I rule they do.) (I'm not wearing boots!) (Shaddup!) (Wait. I am.) (I'm on a horse though. :P) Okay, jail's just next to the west entrance, down the stairs. Dunno where they'd keep weapons and stuff if our guys are really in there, though. (Grr. Foiled again.) * Jinx boots get sticky. He doesn't seem to care. Instead he concentrates on getting to those stairs. * John concentrates on getting to the stairs too. [You approach the west entrance and see the door opening!] (Wait, what kind of entrance is it?) (You guys are so confused. It's double-doors.) * Tairan flattens himself against the wall next to the double doors, weapons drawn, ready to take out anyone that comes through with a SNEAK ATTACK! * John just tries to hide Hazel and himself as well as possible given the limited time. * Jinx likes Tairan's idea and does the same, ready to fire once two guards are out. [The doors open... open... then swing outward with surprising force. Anyone flattened against the walls outside of them, better roll blunt (doors). I'm truly cruel.] ( That's not cruel. ) [The Buddha steps on you.] ( That's cruel. :P ) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jinx (2d6) and gets 6. (Reroll, Jinxy. ;P) (The door flies off into the distance and hits Jinx!) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jinx (2d6) and gets 10. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Tairan (2d6) and gets 7. [Jinx and Tairan are both caught by surprise, but manage to scoot mostly of the way before the doors slam against the outer walls with surprising force. They're just bruised a little, and manage to retain their grips on their weapons.] (Ooooh! I'm betting we got a strong miniboss. ^_^ ) [Out walks about five guards and one very big, very noticeable man... about your ages. Big as in muscle big, not fat big. Noteable features are long sideburns, thick eyebrows, a rather serious expression, and a wicked two-bladed sword. He also seems to be the leader, as the guards stop on his command and he looks around.] ( The other group's miniboss was cooler :P ) (No kidding. <.<) (Yeah, why don't you ignore him and go fight the other one?) (Will if you do too.) (Jinx is happy to attack this guy. ^_^ Sideburns killed his father... ) * John eyes. What weapons they using? * Jinx winces at the hit by the door but quickly regains his senses and fires at the central guy, hoping to catch some guards in the spray. (A mix of spears, katana, and wakizashi. A couple of 'em have bows.) * Tairan makes a most likely futile attempt to stay hidden, along with the two westerners, one on a HORSE, along the wall... which goes all to hell when Jinx fires. * Jinx isn't the subtle one. (*sigh) (Well, might as well shoot, ne?) (Jinx, roll it.) 2d6-4 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jinx (2d6-4) and gets 6. [The man snaps his blade up, one of the slugs deflecting off his weapon. The other slug catches a guard in the arm, and he falls to the ground, clutching it. The man doesn't seem to care.] Aw crap... Jinx, don't try'n kill my freaking brother! [Instead, he fixes his gaze on Jinx, then Tairan. "This isn't what I expected for a coming home party."] * Jinx looks embarrassed and cracks open his gun. "Sorry about that. Thought one bad ass Hoshimoto heir would be enough for the region. Shows what I know." He shrugs. * John doesn't have anything to react with. He's just kinda watching. Me neither. I didn't even bring a cake. [End Session!]
