They're all probably vampires, given there's absolutely no light except for the torches Mikoto and Jinx are holding.] [Surprise round go, and then everyone gets to roll init. "Hey, a crit! Remember this next Christmas." * John is blowing his surprise round by blasting some guns. Millie's bullet collides with a white streak of light coming from the woman's gun, and both are deflected harmlessly into the walls. In the meantime, John fires, disarming one of the vampires and knocking the other off balance, but not before two of them shoot their own shots, injuring Tairan and Jinx as they open the door.] [A third vamp also takes a shot, but it impacts harmlessly on the wall.] ( The woman with the rifle also critted? Wow. ) [Init is: Kojiro, Tairan, Millie, Jinx, Injun, John, Fanfan, woman, Mikoto, goons.] (She must have. Damn. Crit versus crit...except wait, I thought a crit on attack meant you didn't even get a defense roll) ( She didn't. She crit on her attack roll. ) (...but we're in a surprise round) (She was ready for it, too.) (Okay, okay) (It was a surprise round, for everyone who was ready.) (Yup. Crit on attack completly negates defense rolls. So, basically, rather than having you two kill eachother, you just deflected the bullets harmlessly.) ( It's not a real surprise round. It's a "raeadied action round" ) * Kojiro moves smoothly between the lot of you. As soon as he's past Tairan, his hand blurs towards his sword. He doesn't seem to actually draw it, but there's a gust of wind, and a knife-wielding goon is cut in half at his waste before turning to dust. [Tairan's turn] * Tairan charges forward with his sword held in both hands, trying to decapitate one of the gun-wielding goons. (Called Shot) 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Tairan (2d6-2) and gets 9. [Tairan swings, but the goon moves slightly to the side and he misses.] [Millie's turn!] * Millie curses at the missed shot and lines up a shot at the woman again. "I wouldn't try that again. Step away from that altar. I won't miss again." (Readied action to fire if she tries to take another shot.) [Jinx's turn!] * Jinx rushes towards the pedestal, initially charging the rifle wielder but veering with a what the hell look when he hears Millie's comment. He swings at the the knife wielder and tries to get a better view of the potential victim. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jinx (2d6) and gets 6. (That'd be a successful swing.) * Jinx is swinging his torch. [The knife wielder backs away as Jinx swings the torch.] [The Injun guy glares at Jinx, then chants something rapidly. A wall of fire builds itself just in front of the doorway, seperating Jinx, Kojiro and Tairan from the others.] [John's turn!] (We have any gunmen still armed?) ( Dude, it's Kane! ) ( Watch out for the chokeslam, Jinx! ) (My name is Kane. I am here. To Help You.) (The riflewoman's still armed because of crit madness) ( Two vampires have guns aside from the woman, but one is off balance. ) * John takes aim at the two remaining armed vampires and fires, attempting to disarm them. I'm so badass. 2 2d6-3 * Dicesuke throws the bones for John (2 2d6-3) and gets 4 4. [John shoots! But the fire lashes out and incinerates his bullets before they pass through.] [Fanfan's turn!] ( That's some nifty fire. ) (Do you like my bullet? It's made of BADASS.) (... That's something I gotta see. Fire incinerating metal.) (More like it probly melted it.) "It's Fanfan." ... I should've expected that. * Fanfan looks up, recognizing people now through a combination of MAGIC FIRE LIGHT and their voices. [Fanfan gets free soda. Or just free.] [The woman's turn! And she does not seem about ready to listen to Millie.] * Millie fires then. Some people never learn. 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Millie (2d6) and gets 9. [Millie fires! Her bullet does make it through the flaming wall! But it impacts on the side of the woman. Meanwhile, the woman bares her fangs and fires back. A beam of light streaks towards Millie, who needs to try to dodge it.] 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Millie (2d6-2) and gets 7. [Fzzak! Millie gets shot in the side. The light burns, and is pretty painful, to boot. The fires didn't do anything to try to slow the woman's shot.] [Mikoto's turn!] * Millie curses something awful at the pain but tries to take it without a wince. * Mikoto frowns at the goings on, throws aside the torch, and faces the wall of flame with a curious look, throwing out both hands. "Awaken, silver breath, and embrace all in thy wintry lust!" ( WOO! The other one John disarmed rushes at him, throwing a punch that John avoids easily. The one Tairan's fighting attempts to stab him with his knife, but that doesn't work either.] [Two who have arguably more success are a knife wielder, who tries to stab Jinx in the back while he's occupied, and the remaining gunner, who fires at Kojiro.] ( Jinx needs a melee def roll! ) 2d6 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Jinx (2d6) and gets 4. (*definitely argues that someone firing at Kojiro has more success* :P) [Jinx rolls out of the way, and the goon's knife glances off the altar. As for Kojiro, he slashes at the air; there's a small spark in front of him, and no sign of him getting hurt.] [Kojiro's turn!] * Kojiro makes his way over to the remaining gunner, and strikes with his wooden sword. Dead vamp. Er... Deader vamp... you know. Dust. [Tairan's turn!] * Tairan ignores the knife-weilding vamp near him, and charges at the lady with the rifle, trying once again for a sword-swing to the neck. (Called Shot) 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Tairan (2d6-2) and gets 7. (Just say you dusted'em. :P) [Tairan comes close, but the woman moves back, just out of the sword's reach.] [Millie's turn] * Millie leans her back against the wall outside and keeps up her cursing, muttering to herself various explicatives as she cracks open her rifle to reload, using the red bullet. [Jinx's turn] * Jinx grins as he comes out of the roll and heads back to the alter, doing his best to help Fanfan get free, drawing his tomahawk in his non-torch hand if that'd help any. He might just be hoping this act will help later when it comes to that awkward we killed Sakura conversation. ( "Uh, hey, Fanfan? There's something you oughta know..." ) [The Injun's turn!] (Wow. Jinx really doesn't know women if he thinks that'll help ;P) (Jinx be skr00d) (It's not like Sakura was BOINKING Fanfan, for crying out loud.) ( *coughs*. 'Course not.) [The Injun doesn't much like Jinx trying to help Fanfan, and chants a spell, sending a lance of darkness hurtling towards him.] (Of course not. (knife goon, knife/mage boss, rifle boss) ( There's the Injun, the woman, Jinx, and 4 goons, one of whom has just been shot very badly. ) * Fanfan quickly sheathes her dagger and whirls towards the Injun and one of the goons, hitting them both in the general heart vicinity with her sheathed swords. 2 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Fanfan (2 2d6-2) and gets 6 2. [The injun blocks with his knife, but Fanfan does connect with the goon.] 2d6+2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Fanfan (2d6+2) and gets 6. [Fanfan manages to drive her scabbard through the guy's chest, and he turns to dust.] [The woman's turn. She fires at her new opponent, Tairan! [Tairan catches the beam of light in his teeth!] [Just kidding, he actually dodges it.] [Mikoto's turn!] * Mikoto takes a deep breath, looking a little tired, but he frowns and turns to the mage. "This probably won't work so well underground, but..." He thrusts out his hands again. "Emerald Typhoon!" 2d6-2 * Dicesuke throws the bones for Mikoto (2d6-2) and gets 4. (Well, at least the roll was okay.) (Way to go, Fuu-ster!) (...I hate you so much.) (^^;) [Mikoto's attack does look weaker, but the windy blast strikes the mage, injuring him.] [The goons attack! But not very well.] * Kojiro dusts another. 2 left. [Tairan's turn] * Tairan tries for ANOTHER swing to the rifle woman's neck. The woman pulls back again, but not fast enough, and Tairan opens a good sized gash in her neck.] [Millie Vanillie's turn] (That was so bad.) ( ^_^_v ) (Argh. Just argh.) [The remaining goon makes a suicide charge against Kojiro!
