* Jinx gives up swimming against the current. Can he hear Tairan from here? [Jinx hears nothing but rushing water. And the current keeps trying to pull him under. Swimming roll! (as soon as the bot gets here.] * Jinx kicks to stay up and mutters to himself. "Should have taken up dowsing." * Jinx also reaches around, trying to find something to grab on to. [Jinx manages to keep his head above water and, thusly, keep breathing for a bit. The current winds and twists, but generally feels like it's rushing downwards, through the mountain. He couldn't see before but, curiously, now he can! The stone here is strange: all crystaline and glinting as it reflects light from somewhere. Where exactly he can't be sure, because the current's trying to pull him under again. Another swim roll!] 2d6 * Diceroshi throws the bones for Jinx (2d6) and gets 12, a CRITICAL FAILURE!!! "I hope you invested in some good armor." (Errp... dr4) 2d6 * Diceroshi throws the bones for Jinx (2d6) and gets a natural 4 for a result of 4. [Jinx is very nearly pulled under, but manages to break the surface and keep his breath.] [After a wild ride that most water parks couldn't do justice to, Jinx is dumped into an underground lake with an unceremonious splash.] * Jinx treads water for the moment and looks around for shore. "Seems I'm still destined to be hanged." [Jinx sees that he came out of a waterfall at the end of the lake. As he turns, he sees a large cavern of that same crystaline rock. That stuff reflects light well enough to make it rather easy to see, albeit if it is dark a little. As he turns, he sees something else dark, standing in between him and the edge of the cavernous shore. ] [It's an Injun girl! A rather pretty one, with long black hair, brownish skin and hazel eyes. And no clothes. She's stares at Jinx with an expression of dumbfounded shock before screaming.] * Injun turns and quickly wades towards shore where, evidently, her clothes are. * Jinx takes a moment to take in the view. Err, rather adapt to his surroundings. He then keeps treading water and speaks. "Sorry, didn't mean to disturb your bath." * Jinx also heads to shore, as he's not really a great swimmer. He stops as soon as he can stand. [She whips around some several feet from the shore and yells, "Don't you dare move!" She points an arm at Jinx, and some of the water lifts out of the lake and gathers around her hand.] * Jinx stops. "Can I at least swim to wear I can stand?" He continues treading water fairly ineptly. (Also, can I make a CA (Injun) roll about this?) (Essentially if there's any stories about water mages or underground settlements.) [Jinx realizes that just a bit in front of him is a shelf, which the other Injun is actually standing on. Of course, whether she'll let him get there or not is anyone's question.] ( Sure, go for it. ) 2d6-2 * Diceroshi throws the bones for Jinx (2d6-2) and gets a natural 9 for a result of 7. * Injun backs slowly towards the shore, keeping her palm trained on Jinx. She looks about his age, maybe a bit older. For ref. And she's cute. And naked. Really. I'm desert born and raised. Not much for swimming. * Jinx 's tone is friendly but not pleading. * Injun gets to the shore, feeling around for it, not taking her eyes off Jinx. "You're a white-man's friend." * Jinx grins. "That rather depends on the white-man. I'm no friend of Hellspoint." * Jinx also continues to enjoy the view, but tries to avoid overtly leering. ( Performing arts (acting) roll! ) 2d6 * Diceroshi throws the bones for Jinx (2d6) and gets a natural 8 for a result of 8. * Injun shudders a bit and tries to hide herself, but with her limbs all occupied, that's rather hard to do. She pushes herself out of the water with her free hand, never taking her eyes from Jinx. "You wear their clothes." * Jinx notices the shudder. "Look, let me stand up and I'll close my eyes. Deal?" * Injun grabs for her own clothes: an Injun smock that's lying at the foot of the shore. She keeps watching Jinx, but makes no response. * Jinx sighs. "Look, name's Errant Hare. Maybe you've heard of me, maybe you haven't. I do work with white-men but I try to look after Injuns." He grins a bit. "And I've killed scum like the Jennings that hate us." [Hearing check!] 2d6 * Diceroshi throws the bones for Jinx (2d6) and gets a natural 7 for a result of 7. * Injun snarls. "If you're only a white-man on the inside, you're still a white- !" But she stops suddenly, for the first time taking her eyes off Jinx and looking down a nearby cavern." * Injun glares at Jinx. "Stay there. If you move, I'll kill you." And she rushes off down the path.] * Jinx sneers at her initial comment and waits a few moments as she runs off. "Not Injun? Tell that to Hellspoint." * Jinx stays where he is, for now. * Injun doesn't get very far, however. No more than a few steps does she take when another Injun woman comes around the corner. She's taller than the first, with her hair done in two braids around her shoulder. She's got feathers in it, just above the hair, and also has brown eyes. She's wearing Injun clothes as well, though instead of a smock she's got a halter top and a skirt that's slit up both sides. ] [She's also wearing one more article of clothing: A tomahawk belt that holds two tomahawks, though one is presently in her hand and bloody. Behind her she's dragging along the body of a dead Slayer. "Not to worry, Rain. I took care of it." Then she notices Jinx and turns fully towards him. He can see that she's slightly older than him: Early twenties. And she looks familiar. "Hmm, fancy meeting you here, Errant. Come to return my hat?"] [End!]
