* Rain is talking with Crazy Feathers in the back room. Crazy is producing various trinkets on a table nearby Rain such as potions, and such. "And some energy drinks... I'm not certain we need the ice-resistant scrolls anymore..." * Jinx walks in and glances at Crazy Feathers. "I need to speak with Rain. Could you excuse us for a moment?" His tone is even. * Rain glares over her shoulder at Jinx. "No. He can't." Fine. So, what specifically was your reason for plotting to kill the Jennings? * SilverHawk stands behind Jinx and lets the door close behind her. She holds her hands up in a not-my-fault gesture. * Rain glances back at Jinx again. "What does it matter to you?" * Jinx looks confused for a moment and then figures out what he wants to say. "I don't claim to be a representative of justice. But I do want to know what he did to our people." * Rain frowns bitterly. "He slaughtered a village. For fun. And they made him a hero for it." The father? How many villages did he kill? * SilverHawk stands right in front of the door, arms folded. * Jinx sounds a bit surprised at this. Though not to the point of being flummoxed. One. That I know about. Probably more that I don't. And his son wasn't much better. He liked torturing our people. * Jinx nods. "Doesn't surprise me." Jinx then blinks. "Wait, so you didn't know about the Easterner village? I thought that was how he got to be a 'war hero.'" * Jinx's use of the term is quite caustic. * Rain scowls. "He probably killed a few of them, too, but so what? They were just as bad." * Rain turns, folding her arms. "They're the ones who deserved it, if anyone did." * SilverHawk sighs. She looks to Crazy Feathers. "So, how've you been?" * Jinx shrugs his soldiers. "Right. So you don't care about the tablets then?" "Crazy Feathers find much business success in travel." The what? What tablets? White man thing. Anyways, who's next? I try to stay out of the way of legit vengeance when practical. * Rain blinks. "Next?" You're buying supplies. Not going after some other Injun hater? The man I wanted is dead. What we do next is up to Silver Hawk. * SilverHawk shrugs. "Haven't really decided." She glances back at the closed door. "Gotta talk to some contacts." If you want us to stay out of your way, Errant, better to tell us now. * Jinx shakes his head. "Naw, do what you want. We're tracking Jan at the moment. Retrieval job that got all complicated." * SilverHawk whistles. "Jan? Calamity Jan?" * Rain scowls. "Another white woman. We should find her and scalp her." * Jinx's tone had been a bit disappointed, although he grins at that query. He looks to Silver Hawk. "She's promised me a..." He then looks to Rain. "Vengeance is actually supposed to be a personal thing, you know?" Personal? I don't do this for myself. I do it for the blood of my ancestors. * Jinx snorts. "Really? And all those time you've fantasized about killing Jennings or the like, the rush you felt was all about righteousness?" * Rain glares at Jinx. "I don't expect someone like YOU to understand." Then tell me. How would it feel? * Rain turns to face Jinx fully, tilting her chin up. "Good. I'd love to do it. I'd have taken his scalp back to show all of my people. Show them he got what he deserved." * Jinx smiles coldly as he looked down at her. "And if it hadn't been me that beat you to him? If it was some actual Injun hero? You wouldn't be unhappy or resentful at all, right? If it was some actual Injun hero, I'd be pleased. But it wasn't. * Jinx shrugs. "Good for you. I'd still have wanted payback." Our tribe doesn't need outsiders to fight our battles. And your battle is with everyone that isn't Injun? What if it is? You consulted with the tribes wise ones? With the shamans? Or is this all your idea? * Rain scowls. "There are no wise ones left to consult." Ours isn't the only tribe. * Rain raises an eyebrow. "I doubt the others would object." I'm pretty sure Crazy's doesn't. Do ya, Crazy? * SilverHawk focuses on Jinx. "It's not like Rain here's going out and killing everyone." * Jinx looks over at Silver Hawk. "Right, remind me how Calamity Jan is a notorious Injunn hunter." "Crazy Feathers buy, and Crazy Feathers sell. Crazy Feathers does not object." * Rain puts her hands on her hips. "She promised you what?" * Jinx looks to Rain. "Why do you care? I'm scum. But if you think being a victim makes one wise, you better figure out how to explain me." You're defending a white woman. That's all there is to it. * SilverHawk sighs. "Rain..." I'll be happy to take it back. Just tell me about an Injun she killed. ::He sneers a bit:: And no bounty hunters, unless you suddenly care about my kind. * Rain stares at Jinx. You don't even know what you're talking about. We ARE bounty hunters. Righteous bounty hunters? Now I have seen everything. Not all of us have turned our backs on our heritage like you. * Jinx laughs. "Right. Because bounty hunting is a noble Injun tradition. Not a way to make some quick cash off Teckian towns and rich whites." * SilverHawk frowns. "Watch the land you're treading, Errant Hare." * Jinx looks at Silver Hawk but thinks better of commenting. He then looks to Rain. "So you only hunt the unjust? Regardless of bounty size?" You wouldn't understand. Silver Hawk takes care of all of the money. Other than necessities, I have no use for it. My, quite the true believer. But if you start your holy war, a lot more whites are going to be after Injun blood. I hope Silver Hawk takes care of that too. * Jinx walks over towards the door. "Going to"? A little late for that. * SilverHawk steps out of Jinx's way. * Jinx laughs as he opens the door. "Well at least all that blood will make you pure. Anyways, as the whites say, see you in hell." He steps out. Nice to see you too, Errant. * SilverHawk shuts the door as Jinx leaves.
