Jan 06 00:59:17 ** Taki Wars, Episode 4. Earlier in the day, Taka got a surprise- in the form of a dimension-hopping supermodel who claims is there to defend her. Taka's previous guard didn't get a chance to object. Time passed, and liquor dissappeared, until Gerald got off of work with Sachiko- just in time for Bob, who had recently awoke, to trade off with him. Bob didn't seem too ... coherent, and luckily for Nina, she stayed out of his sight- and apparently, his short-term memory. It's December 27th, 2004, 8:34pm. It'd dark out, but that doesn't matter, since Gerald and Sachiko are just recently inside! Start. (Where is my annoyingly drunken supermodel?) ( Upstairs, out of sight. ) * Taka smiles down at her daughter. "Hello, Sachi. It's been a late night for you, hasn't it?" * Gerald , since he hasn't gotten a proper description yet, is kinda studly, and doesn't look much younger than Taka. He's pretty fit-looking, too. He looks as perhaps he's seen more than anyone has a right to, though. He's got brown hair, brown eyes that are stern, wide shoulders, and is currently in an unbuttoned police shirt, a white t-shirt underneath. * Sachiko runs, and jumps up into Taka's arm. "Ta!" * Taka laughs and hugs her daughter, leaning over slightly as she did so. "Not too many doughnuts today, I hope?" She glances up at her husband from her daughter-hug. Da says it's not late for him! So it's not late for me! * Taka smiles at her husband. "Oh, it isn't, mmm?" * Gerald chuckles softly. "She only had one. She insisted she should have more, though." Did not! * Taka takes Sachiko's hand and leads her into the kitchen. "Well, then, one small snack and drink, and then you're going to bed." She smiles with a hint of chiding. "Because it is late for you." * Sachiko looks up cutely at her mother. "Got any dooooughnuuuuts?" * Sachiko rocks from one foot to the other. "Doooooooghnut." * Taka shakes her head slightly and replies, "Noooooooooo, I do not." You sure you don't have a dooooooughnut? * Taka continues in the childish tone, "Yeeees I am." * Sachiko giggles, and runs past Taka, to the counter, and reaches up at the cabinets above. She's sorely lacking in length enough to reach them, though. * Taka shakes her head and lets her rummage, instead approaching her husband and opening her 1.5 arms for a hug. "Welcome home." She smiles at him. "As you can see, I didn't manage to die." * Gerald hugs her back, tightly, nuzzling his forehead into her cheek silently. There's sounds of chair-scraping-on-floor from the kitchen. * Taka lets out a little warm sigh, and turns away from him, looking back at the kitchen. "Except for our visitor, things were quiet today." She walks back to the kitchen. "Of course, she made well up for that." * Gerald makes a face. "Something tells me I'm not going to like the full story. I've got some news of my own, too." *he glances at the kitchen* That can wait 'til she's put to bed, though. (What was making the scraping? Is Sachi trying to further search for doughnuts? ^_~) (Motherly instincts say yes!) (Well, I am walking back to the kitchen.) Sachiiii... you had better not be climbing on things. * Sachiko has just pulled one of the chairs from the table to one of the counters, and freezes as she's about to climb up the chair. She's not actually climbing up it yet, though. * Sachiko glances back at the door frantically, then ducks down, out of sight behind the island. * Taka laughs a little and walks over to the island. "Hmm. No Sachi... I wonder who moved the chair over here, then..." * Gerald moves to better his view of the kitchen, a small smile on his face. * Taka looks back at Gerald and points around one side of the island, then slowly begins to walk around the other. * Sachiko peeks around the corner, spots the oncoming Taka, and starts going around the other way. * Gerald nods, and takes giant, exxagerated tippy-toes to cover the other side, complete with hooked hands and waving fingers. * Sachiko audibly 'Eeek!'s at the approaching Gerald, and breaks into a run past Taka's side. * Taka laughs and crouches and spin-scoops her daughter up onto the counter before saying, "Aha! There you are. I wondered where you went. You can't get a snack if you're not here, you know." * Sachiko giggles loudly, and waves her feet against the drawers below the cabinet. "Snack! Doooooughnut is snack?" It would be, if I had any, which I don't. * Taka pokes her nose. "So you'll have to have something else." * Gerald drops the spooky act, and laughs to himself. "What have I unleashed?" Awwww. * Sachiko mock-pouts for a moment, then giggles again. * Taka chuckles. "A lifelong love for fried dough, I suppose." All I can say is... it didn't come from my side of the family. * Taka looks over at Gerald with a faint smile, then back at Sachiko. "Okay, then, if you don't have any other ideas, I'll get you a cup of pretzels and some milk, okay?" * Sachiko hmms, and thinks about it. She nods muchly after a few seconds. "Okay! Thank you, Ta!" * Taka smiles and lowers her to the ground. "Alright. Gerald, take her upstairs, please? I'll be up with the snacks in a second." (I'm not sure if/when you want to FF past all the cutesy family stuff, or when our favorite drunken supermodel is going to enter the play. ^_~) ( I'm letting this play out as it goes. The only Important Bit is rather short, so I'm in no hurry. ) (Okay.) * Gerald moves forward, and scoops up Sachiko to his shoulder. "C'mon, sprat, time for bed." He ducks for the kitchen door and doesn't give her a chance to protest- though she does start to before they gets upstairs. * Taka goes to collect herself some milk and pretzels. * Taka starts to hum something. A nice tune. Taka hears Sachi's room door close after a bit, then a surprised female 'HEY!', and noise. * Taka rolls her eyes and says, with a tinge of annoyance, "Nina." A moment later, Gerald comes down the stairs, one Nina in a headlock by him being dragged down the stairs with him. The 'cheery asian girl' you mentioned? * Taka is holding a plate with a cup of pretzels and a cup of milk, looking at the girl with amusement. "And, supposedly, my guard. It seems she really could use better self defense training. Nina, meet my husband Gerald." * Gerald sounds faintly amused. "You neglected to mention she was armed." * Nina mutters and twists and generally doesn't get free. She takes a moment to reset her breathing rate once they're still. * Taka laughs and walks by him, giving him a little kiss on the way. "A minor detail for you, heart. I'll be right back." * Taka heads upstairs with the plate for her daughter. * Sachiko 's room is closed! The lights are still on, visible through the cracks. * Taka crouches and sets down the plate, then opens the door and picks the plate back up. * Taka then walks in. "Sachi?" The door opens, and Taka gets to see a Sachiko that's naked from the waist down, and about to recitfy that with a pair of jammies. * Sachiko pulls them up, then hops into a sitting position on her bed. "Ta!" * Taka nods and comes over, putting the plate down near her bed, and handing her the pretzel cup. "Yes. I brought your snack." * Sachiko pokes at the cup for a moment, then starts chewing on the cup. She blinks, and pulls out a pretzel, and tries that, instead. She appears to like the pretzel a lot more. * Taka smiles a little and sits with her while she eats. "Anything other than doughnuts that were interesting today, Sachi?" * Sachiko thrusts one arm into the air, and exclaims happily, "Da yelled at people over the phone!" Well, I'm sure that was fun. * Sachiko nodnods. "Friend of Da said hi, too." * Sachiko holds out the empty pretzel cup with both hands. * Taka nods. "So a lot of yelling and Eric visiting? And doughnuts?" * Sachiko nods again. "Doooooooughnuts!" Then she giggles. * Taka laughs a little and nods at the milk. "No, no, that's enough snack. It's late." * Sachiko puts down the empty cup, and grabs the full one. She gets it by both hands, and downs it with one giant (for a kid) sized gulp. A little drools out of the corner of her mouth. * Sachiko wipes the drooling milk off with the back of her hand, and wipes that off on her shirt. "All done!" * Taka smiles a little at her, but it's chiding again. "I'll only let you do that because all the napkins are downstairs." She takes the cup from her. "Lay down, daughter." * Sachiko lays down, eyes open and on Taka. * Taka leans over and kisses her forehead. "Eyes closed, daughter. Time to sleep." * Sachiko closes her eyes. "Night Ta." * Taka gives her a half hug. "Good night, Sachiko." * Taka smiles at her daughter, then picks up the plate again and goes through the 'closing the door and going downstairs' ritual. The sacred ritual completed successfully, the view shifts to the living room, where Nina isn't being strangleholded- she's sitting in one of the chairs, and Gerald is on the couch, looking over Nina's gun. * Sachiko has quit (Quit: 'nite Ta!) * Taka joins her husband and the model in the living room, having gotten rid of the plate (probably in the kitchen!) * Gerald waves at Taka. He sounds practically jovial. "So, hun, how did you two meet? She's given me funny answers to everything I've asked but her name. I'm sure there's a fascinating story behind how you two met." * Nina flatly eyes Gerald. She looks annoyed, and a fair bit disheveled- which only seems to make her -more- attractive. * Taka says, with a smile, "You know, that is my experience with her as well... however..." ( Pfft, I'm not a model. I'm a SUPERMODEL. ) * Taka takes a seat. "I met her outside, after she knocked out Bob with that... weapon of hers." She frowns. "As I slightly mentioned, she... says she's here to guard me from the woman who attacked me last week." * Gerald loses the jovialness instantly. "... you don't say." * Nina crosses her arms. "It's true!" * Taka looks over at Nina. "There was a slight bit of me tackling her that I left out, among other things, but... yes." Geeze. At least I'm only assigned to protect one of you. * Gerald continues looking at Nina, but he talks to Taka. "Do you believe her?" The part about 'cop from another dimension sent to protect you and has a whole bunch of theories and can't explain them because she's too blonde?' * Taka smiles faintly and looks back at Gerald. "I believe that if someone sent her to hurt me, they were foolish." She then sighs. "But I do think she knows more about this, these... strange explanations aside." She pauses, then adds, "She knew who my attacker was." ... Black hair, thankyouverymuch! Oh, but I thought you were the type who beleived the inner color was the true one? * Taka glances between the two of them as she waits for her husband to process the last part of that statement. * Nina grates her teeth. Her eyes seem like they're imagining many possible fates for Gerald, all bad. Knowledge of your attacker could be obtained by being in league with the attacker. * Nina does a perfect impression of a stereotypicial valley girl. "As IF." * Taka sighs. "Yes, Gerald, but... my attacker was not just some random person." * Gerald nods. "Well, there's the news I have, too. The prints and bloods tests from the window..." * Gerald sighs, heavily, and turns to face his wife. "They're perfect matches for you." That aside, I ... I don't know your situation, what kind of tricks are being played on you. But if you'll trust her, I'll trust you. * Taka look back at Gerald, with very little shock, and far more resignation. "I... She called herself by my name but I..." she looks down slightly. "I did not want to believe that what I saw was true." * Taka glances over at Nina and looks back up at Gerald, saying firmly, "Until everything is cleared up, I'm willing to let her stay and wait for her partner for a little while, who will hopefully explain this better." * Taka glances over at Nina. "A little while that will involve very little alcohol." * Gerald nods, mostly to himself. * Nina hrmphs. "Okay then. Fine!" She huffs, then looks upwards. "You know, I could just contact him." My partner, that is. I gave you the communicator so you could do that. * Taka frowns. "And not a minute beforehand you implied I would have to wait." She shakes her head. * Gerald gets up, walks to a drawer, sticks Nina's gun in it, and slides it shut. * Gerald sits back down. "Let's give him a call then." * Taka nods slightly and retrieves the communicator from a pocket in her dress, before attempting to work it. * Nina pulls out her PDA, and taps something on it. "Hey, Taka, where'd you put- oh, there it is." * Nina holds out one hand. "Toss it here real quick." * Gerald watches Nina. Like a hawk. * Taka tosses it at her, then looks over at Gerald and says quietly, trying to draw his attention, "She really did say she was Taka Miyajima, Gerald. And looked, acted, and fought much like myself." * Gerald frowns, and responds softly, "That's a large pill to swallow, hun." * Nina catches the communicator, and fiddles with it, and her PDA, for a moment. * Taka nods slightly. "I know." She sighs. "But there's no reason for amyone to make up such strange tales." * Communicator clicks on and beeps twice. Hey, Guy, I'm over at the springs site, and, well... the native's here, and she wants some explainin'. So do your explaining! * Nina tosses the communicator back to Taka. * Taka catches the communicator and frowns at it, saying with a tinge of disbelief, "This is Taka Fontain...?" * Communicator mutters. It's a deep mutter, with a definite southern accent. And the voice that goes along with it is much the same. Guy. * Communicator has no background noise in it. Whee! Well, shoot. * Taka frowns. "Shoot at what? Your partner has told me many strange things about.. dimensions, and the DISC. But..." Ah imagine you got some questions... they're best answered one at a time. * Gerald takes his attention off of Nina, and shifts it to Taka and the communicator. * Taka nods at the communicator a little. "How do we know this is not some sort of strange game?" Ah... that's not a question ah can answer with definitive proof without showing you our base oh operations. Me ahdn Nina know it. And you, too, Taka. It's in there, in yer soul. * Taka frowns slightly and is silent for a second. * Taka finally says, "And this woman? Nina deferred on explaining exactly what... she wants." The one we chased here? I can't say fer sure, but I'd imagine she means to kill you. * Taka exhales in a sigh. "I believe her saying that she wanted me dead makes that clear, but I do not understand why." * Communicator is silent on the other end. "I don't know what planted the desire. But the coalescing phenonema will make it stronger." * Taka sighs and shakes her head, then says politely, "Thank you for trying to answer. Will you be joining us anytime soon?" In a couple a days. Did Nina explain what's happenin' to ya? Well, lemme correct myself. What happened to all of yeh? * Taka glances at Gerald, then says, "The woman attacked me and was driven off by my husband and I." * Nina makes a helpless face, and shrugs her shoulders. "I don't know all those theories! That why I told you to explain!" Not quite what ah meant. That's just the surface of it. * Taka glances over at Nina, now, then looks down at the communicator. "What did you mean, then?" There's a theory, called the Theory of Coalesence Phenonoma. It's heavily steeped in multi-dimensional energy transfer equaltions and simaltaneuos timelines and minute degrees of difference between dimensions... But the gist of it is this. * Communicator coughs, and focuses on his speech. It's much clearer, and much less accented. "You, and all the other yous, have the same soul. That's not quite that the doctor called it, but it's the closest term you'll understand at the moment." * Taka does look a bit disturbed by this, but doesn't speak up. There's a peculiar thing about them. They travel with their person, and when you get two of the same soul in the same dimension... If they get close, they syncronize with each other. This isn't a cause for worry, here. It's the next bit that applies to you. Now, there's normally a seal of sorts that keeps all the different parts of the same soul seperate. When two of the same one are syncronized, if one of them dies, that seal breaks, because the souls, for lack of a better word, have a gap in the dimension they came form. * Taka continues looking disturbed and confused. These... souls... then are no longer seperate? The long and short of it is that now, all the Taka's of the multiverse are linked, know it, and are going to be attfracted to each other, for good or ill. There's a long sigh from the other end of the communicator. In yer case, looks like it's fer ill. * Taka doesn't seem to have anything more eloquent to say than, "I... guess that is so." ... yeah. Normally, the life energy of the one with the soul gets recyclced back intah the energy of it's own dimension, and stays seperate. But in yer case, it's just gonna spread itself over the rest of ya. The other Taka that's here, she prob'bly doesn't know it. She feels it. * Gerald frowns deeply, his brow furrowing with worry and concern. ( Gimma a soul roll. +3. ) (... +3? Ouch.) * Dicesuke throws the bones for Taka (2d6+3) and gets 10. (Noooo way.) (Am I waiting for something, or can I continue?) (You can continue.) * Taka shakes her head and says, "I... think I need to think about this." Suddenly, Taka feels a sharp pain in her chest- like a knife being thrust inside it. And then she feels the knife dragged up- through her ribs, the wound is shallower there, then deeper again as it continues upwards to her neck. And then it's pulled out. For some reason, the mental impression of the knife is extremely vivid. As far as the pain... it feels as if it had happened to her. ( That was a shock roll, BTW. ) * Taka gasps and clutches for her chest with her one hand, the communicator falling to the ground as she falls back in her chair. The last thing Taka's aware of is that blood is starting to seep through her shirt, as she passes out. Jan 06 03:36:02 End!
