[ We find Our Mutie Freaks beginning to congregate for dinner. The X- Men got back an hour ago, but they were all exhausted from their adventure and have gone to bed early. One day I'll even work out an official roster for them in this continuity. ] [ Session Start! ] * Max meanders into the kitchen, dressed in the same black hooded oversized sweatshirt and blue jeans, hood up, hands in pockets. Same sandals. Same socks with sandals. Same inability to see anything other than glasses glint inside the hood. He retrieves a single stick of unsalted butter from the fridge and goes to sit down somewhere. * Harry is at the table! He's short, very slender, with green eyes and brown hair. He's wearing a simple black t-shirt and jeans. He's got meat and veggies and all sorts of things in front of him, but he's also got a book sitting there next to the plate. * Eric is in the kitchen, cooking away. "Hey guys! What'cha want!?" he calls over the sound of cooking. H-hello, Harry... * Alex pops into the kitchen for dinner, still looking absolutely gorgeous, though in different clothes from before. his short blond hair is still slightly wet and spiked up from the shower he got done taking, made necessary by taking on two people in basketball. He's changed into a pair of light brown slacks and a white button down shirt that hangs down to mid thigh. * Harry looks up and smiles a little, saying, "Hey, Max." He eyes the butter. "What's in the butter?" Um lipids.... no-nothing for me, Eric. Thank er, you. Sure? Anybody else want somethin?! Got any rice and veggies? * Max takes a bite out of crime. I mean the butter. * Eric hmmms... "How about some chicken stir-fry?" * Harry looks at Max a little oddly, but then shrugs and goes back to chopping, eating, and reading. * Claire floats into the room. She's wearing a long black skirt, slit at the knee, and a white blouse, top two buttons unbuttoned. She runs a hand through her hair. "Dinner time already? I was so caught up in Zelda that I didn't notice." * Max turns green. No, really, a nice dark lime green. * Miya appears out of nowhere, in that same white flash, right behind Eric. She's well under five feet, young, and underdeveloped, though very much in shape. Chin-length black hair with bangs, blank white eyes, and at some point she got dressed, since she's wearing jeans and a tank top (though no shoes). She looks around him and wrinkles her nose. (His hands, anyways. His hood's still up.) Why's everything always have to be fried? Just plain old rice and vegetables. * Eric shrugs. "Everything isn't. Ya want somethin Miya?" ^^ Nutritious, delicious, and filling. Hey Alex! They don't have any rice! Um. * Miya debates with herself. "... I dunno." Then just vegetables is fine. Not fried. Raw or steamed. ... Duh? * Harry flips a page, frowns at it, and then looks up to see Claire and Miya wandering around. * Eric starts through some veggies. A good portion he puts in a steamer and just lets cook. * Max moves more of the butter under the hood, presumably eating it. * Miya eyes that. * Miya points. "Can I have some of that, too? I mean. If it's not too much trouble. I don't want to steal anybody's food." * Claire floats over by Miya. "Me too." Uh, sure. * Eric shrugs and puts more in. Geeze, does nobody believe in meat anymore? Afraid not, Eric. Not all of us have amazing mutant metabolism powers. I do, only... um, not fried. I don't mind. Yeah, but I know how to cook non-fried meat, you know. Like, say... chicken. * Harry speaks up, "Hey! I'm eating meat, Eric and... um, I'm somebody." Okay. That works. Not too much salt. Or, um. Fat. Or sugar... (Man, this group of teens has GOT to be the most health-conciencious group ever.) M-many somebodys. ( Possibly. ) Sugar on chicken? * Miya turns at the sound of Max's voice, and her eyes go wide. Ew. * Max looks up at Miya. Well, the hood moves up to face her, anyhow. * Miya cringes away and looks for something to hide behind, failing miserably. * Eric slices up a ton of chicken breasts and puts them on the grill. Most of them he marinates with different kinds of sauce, but he leaves some plain for the health-freaks. * Max looks back down at his butter quickly. * Claire lands so that Miya can hide behind her. * Miya hides behind Claire and peeks around her. * Max sticks more of the butter in the dark space under the hood. ( This game needs more soy. ) * Eric hmmms... And checks his pot of smashed potatoes. "Alright, you guys ready for dinner?!" (Everyone else: VEGETABLES GOOD Max: Mmm, lipids.) Quite. That game left me hungry. (Eric: I EAT HAT!) * Claire is hid behind. She looks behind herself questioningly until Eric says that, then nods at him. "Yeah, I'm starving. I lost track of time." It's hard trying to win a two on one game. Good, help me with this, could ya? * Harry has the good sense to blush at that, and goes back to eating. * Miya speaks up, nervously: "Game?" * Alex walks over and grabs a couple trays of food and carries them gracefully over to the table. We played some basketball. Oh. Um, okay. I played Zelda. What, you don't like basketball? * Harry suddenly looks over at Max with his eyes wide. A little too wide, really. * Miya opens her mouth, then closes it, then opens it again with, "Um, no..." How about football? Baseball? * Miya blushes. "You mean I don't like them?" ( Harry's eyes fall out because his eyelids were opened too much ) * Harry blinks a few times, and starts to gnaw upon a green pepper absently as he looks across the table at Max. Do you play them? It'd be nice to have a good second. * Max calmly finishes the butter. "Er uh Eric?" Basketball's the only one where you can really have a good two on two match, though. * Eric makes a couple oven mits which go around the handles of two of the pots and carries them over to the table. The food's *hot*, and what we have is... A large number of mixed steamed veggies (Carrots, brocoli, squash, coliflour, spinach, and peas), Lots and lots of grilled chicken of all kinds of marination, a heaping pot of mashed potatoes, among other things. "Yeah?" Do they h-have peanuts? Eh, who? * Miya looks at the chicken. In er the fridge, I mean, or the cabinet, or something, um. * Claire lifts the chicken, making it wave its wings. "Don't eat meee!" The food? Guess they would. I mean, they gotta come from somewhere, right? * Eric snickers. * Alex starts gathering a fair mix of raw and steamed veggies, and gives the plain chicken breasts a longing look, like he really, really would like one, but he sits down away from them, next to Miya./ * Max goes over to the fridge to get them, then. He leaves Miya and Claire a wiiiiide berth. * Alex just sorta gapes at the chicken for a moment, then tucks his head down and starts slowly eating vegetables. * Harry hits the core of the green pepper as he is gnawing upon it and frowns, muttering, "Stupid peppers." He looks over at Max for a second, then he presses his hand up against the top of the pepper and pulls out the whole core. * Miya ends up sitting next to Alex and either Eric or Claire. She blinks at Alex's plate, then helps herself to a full plate of vegetable, and chicken with as little marinating as she can find. * Eric dives into the potatoes, puts some chicken on it, and gets a bit of veggies too. (There are chicken breasts without marination. ^^;) ( The chicken is dancing ) (Which one?) ( One of them :P ) (Hehehe.) * Miya does this like such things are commonplace, but she does giggle. Can't help herself. * Eric eyes the dancing chicken and makes a knife + chef's hat, which starts to chase it. * Miya starts laughing. * Max returns to his seat next to Harry. The hood looks at the chicken. * Claire has the chicken take flight! * Alex looks up and can't help but start quietly snickering. * Alex mutters to Miya, "Is it always like this around here?" * Max looks back at Miya, then over to Claire, then down to the peanuts, which he begins eating. One at a time. * Harry is looking down at his book, but looks up when Miya starts laughing. "... invisible things chasing chicken. I wonder where they'd put it." * Eric has the knife and hat take flight too. "You shall not escape me el Pollo Diablo!" * Alex snarfs. * Miya can't stop laughing. * Claire has the chicken fly around the table. "Save me! Save me!" Raaah! * Miya draws her chopsticks (deadly weapons!) and snaps them at the chef's hat and knife as they pass. Ah! No! The Chopsticks of Doom! Noooooo! Yay! * Eric has the knife and hat puff away. "What a world, what a world!" * Claire hums the Final Fantasy victory music as the chicken lands and dances. * Miya powerposes. "I win!" And then she blushes. "I mean, um..." And shrinks into her seat. Yay! * Eric dives in to the food some more. ( *Miya does the Final Fantasy victory dance* ) * Max laughs, which is quickly stifled into a kind of half-cough half-gurgle. * Miya blinks and looks at Max. "Are you okay?" * Alex manages to repress most of his laughing. "Do you people always play with your food like that? * Claire floats the chicken back to the plate, and rests it there. Er a um peanut. Wrong w-way. Nope. Not *always* Oh. Um, okay. Sometimes we have the epic tale of the coke and the pepsi. * Miya picks at her food. "Yeah, um. If we always did, then we'd never eat anything." That'd make Eric sad. * Eric looks up from his plate of food. "Huh?" * Claire finally has a seat near Miya, and grabs some food. * Miya smiles sheepishly and relaxes a little when Claire sits by her. * Alex keeps smiling as he downs some more broccoli. * Harry puts a slice of ham around a pickle and cheese, and eats it. "Not eating would make you sad, she said. And--" he suddenly covers his mouth. * Max puts down the peanuts and reaches up to his hood. After a pause of a few seconds, he pushes it down. Surprise! He is all green-skinned on his face, too. Rather nondescript face, with black spiky hair and one silver earring. And the silver glasses, behind which are some really very blue eyes. He picks up the peanuts, and starts eating again. * Miya glances at Max, then concentrates on her food. (Refrains from calling Max 'That guy on Dragon Ball Z'.) (He'll totally turn you into a radish.) ( Hah! ) (A pickle! XD) * Harry slowly removes his hand from his mouth and goes back to reading/eating. You guys are a laugh a minute. * Eric finishes eating. And... almost all the stuff is gone. There's still enough for anyone who wants more, though. Unlike most people, Eric's not patting his stomach or anything like that, he's just happy. "So, what do you want to do now?" Something active. * Miya says, quietly, "You'll cramp up." Um but we just did the basketb-ball. ...so? Yeah, so? 's why I ate a light dinner. ... um nothing. Let's play Contra 3 Let's not, and say we did. (Claire hasn't met the other kids, has she? Or will we say she did offscreen? ^^) (She hasn't, I don't think. ^^;) (She hasn't met Max. Nor has Miya.) * Harry looks over at peoples, having eaten quite a bit of the pile of food in front of him himself. "Is that another sport, lady?" (I know Miya hasn't met Max.) ( She hasn't, near as I can tell ) It's just a video game. It's not JUST a video game. It's the third installment in an exciting series! It's a video game. Anyways, it's only one or two players. What're the rest of the people gonna do, eh Claire? * Miya giggles a little. Ummm... Oh! I know! We can play Gauntlet! It's a little old, but it's for four players! * Harry looks confused for a second, then sighs slightly, which blends immediately into a coughing fit. * Eric counts people. "We got six people, though." We can take turns! * Miya speaks up: "I'll play. We could, um. Yeah." Yay! I um won't er play. But gauntlet needs you ta keep the same player, eh? * Miya blinks, looking up at Max this time. "Why not?" If t-there's too many people.... I'm not much for videogames, sorry. Besides, you'd have to keep the sound down. * Claire hops up. "We can switch when someone dies. It'll be fine. I need to get the NES out and set up, so I'll go on ahead." She floats down the hallway (while her player AFKs). At the end she crashes into the wall, but gets up, rubs her head and vanishes around the corner. ... Oh. We could take turns? * Miya looks back at Claire. * Harry says, "I guess I can play, then, but I..." he watches her drift down the hall. "Who was that?" * Eric winces. She's gotta learn how to not run into walls. * Miya fidgets. "Claire." * Miya goes back to eating. Nice food. * Max nods absently, and rolls a peanut in his hand. It sprouts. When he notices, he quickly palms it and it disappears. * Max clears his throat rather abruptly. "Er, um. W-w-what about you?" He looks at Miya, strangely almost apologetic. * Eric sighs. "So, do you guys really want ta play video games all night?" (Night, all.) * Miya yelps, looks around, and realizes Max is looking at her. "Me?" ('night Kate!) * Eric snickers. "Yeah you. Who else?" ^^ Um. No. Just until I won't cramp up anymore? It's bad to exercise right after you eat and, um... stuff. Uh um no, I meant ... your n-name. * Miya blinks. "Oh. Miya. Miya Yoritomi." She does a little bow. "It's nice to meet you." L-l-likewise. Um I'm Max. * Miya smiles a little. "Okay." She looks down at her plate, which as mysteriously lost all its food. "I'm done. I'm, um... gonna go help Claire set up. You can come play, Max. It'll be fun." * Max blinks. "Um okay." * Eric starts cleaning up. "Eh, sure. Go ahead, they're right you know. It is fun the first five or so times ya play it." ^^; * Miya smiles nervously, then pushes herself away from the table and waves before vanishing in a flash of white. * Max blinks. ... .... oh. * Alex sighs and clears off his own dishes. * Harry smiles at his book and then looks over towards Eric. "How long does the... uh, playing usually last?" Eh, it's a long game. As long as ya want, really. * Max screws the lid on the peanuts. "I'm, um, sorry Alex. I don't d-do the sports thing um er very often, you see." it's cool, man. It was a good workout. I'm just not much for videogames anymore. Ya like pool? (Fortunately, pool's in the same room! Maybe it wasn't, but it is now.) * Harry mutters, "Me neither," and eats the last bit of food he's got piled in front of him. They got one in the room where they'll be settin' up the video games. We could turn down the music for ya. (... the original Gauntlet didn't have music, did it? Or did we just play it muted? I can't remember.) (It had music. It was all lame 8-bitty stuff.) (Not all the time, I don't think, though.) (Alex will become a blip!) 'sides, the music sucks eggs. Eh, they can live without it. ( Or it could drop us all into a Gauntlet as made by Arcade. ) (I think the most pronounced music from the game is the 'You're dying' music.) (Which isn't necessarily what you want.) ( Precisely. ) Pool's not bad. (Yeah, but the thing is you need at least a lead and an accompament, right?) (I don't think Nintendo HAD that.) Not much of a workout, but at least it's difficult. ( Nope. Vocals are not technically necessary. ) Eh, don't sweat everything you get off. Too much work is just as bad as too little. Er, um. Are we uh going? (So I can whistle something and it'll take effect?) * Eric finishes washing the rest and cleans his hands off. "Yeah, let's get movin'. " * Eric starts walking to the game room! * Harry closes the book, which none of you are paying attention to anyway. "I wanna go by my room first, but I'll be there, I think." * Max grows a tendril out of nowhere, which whips the peanuts into the cupboard and then subsides back into nothing. Sure thing Harry. * Max follows after Eric. "D-do they make a map?" Let's go, Eric. You can break. * Harry eyes tendril-man for a sec, then suddenly starts coughing as he walks off to his room. (Not actually a tendril on me body. Just like, out of the floor.) Not really. I've just been here a while. It's not really complicated, a lot like an extra big house. ^^ Oh. Um they should make er a map. * Max flips up his hood, and his hands fade back to pink before he shoves them in the sweatshirt pocket. Hey er Eric um. Eh? How m-many people here do you k-know? Eh, a lot. Why? Just uh wondering. *beat* Are t-they all as um nice? Why wouldn't they be? Some p-people um just aren't. * Eric smiles. "Maybe some are a little paranoid, but everyone tends ta be pretty nice, if you know what I mean." Oh... * Will is now known as Delia We do all have to live together, after all Being polite is pretty much a necessity, even if you don't like someone. * Max doesn't say anything. Ain't it the truth? But I got no problems with anyone here. * Max nods, silently. So, why are you bein' so... cautious? Yer reminding me of Miya. Um er I guess uh h-habit I dunno really... * Eric reaches the Boathouse and busts open the door. No knocking, just opens. "Hey guys, got everythin' set up?" * Miya yelps and looks up at Eric, the bubble bobble dinosaur on the television dying. "Uh huh." She looks back at the screen. "Aww." * Eric snickers and hums along to the music. "Might wanna turn the music down, though. Alex's here." * Claire has her dinosaur pick up a banana and trap a robot in a bubble. "Eric! Look what you did." Uh um hey. I am powerful! Eh, yeah. * Claire waves. "Well, guess we should play Gauntlet now. That was short." * Miya gets up and walks to the television, pressing the volume down a few times. * Eric looks outside and motions for Alex to come inside. After doing that he starts setting up the pool balls. * Alex claps his hands over his ears as he enters and hears the music. (Ehe. There goes that.) (Music's so low you can't hear it. Or should be. ^^;) * Alex walks over to the pool table and slowly, CAREFULLY takes his hands off his ears. * Max looks around for a chair or couch or futon or ottoman or something. So... Gauntlet? We could play Bomberman, if you guys rather. That's what they're playin'. Alex'n'I are gonna shoot some pool, eh? That's also four players. Okay. I, um, I can t-try. D-do you have a manual? (No. Who ever has the manual?) * Delia carefully and slowly cracks the door open, looking inside. Ummm... * Claire goes over to a box and fishes around. "I think so. It's not too complicated anyhow. You just use A to drop bombs, and B to use the detonator, if you have one." * Eric looks over to the door and waves. "Eh! Come on in! " * Miya looks up at Delia and eeps. Just a little. * Claire comes up with both a game and a manual. "Got it! Catch!" The manual floats over towards Max. Hey, another new girl. C'mon in. * Claire waves. "Hey, we're just about to play." * Max is in the middle of pulling down his hood when Claire throws the manual. A vine of some sort erupts from the carpet, snags the manual, and gently presents it to Max when he pulls down his hands. Max, for his part, looks shocked, then sheepish. * Delia opens the door and walks in, standing stock-still just a step away from the door. She's pretty in a plain sort of way, with a dark green turtleneck blouse and matching skirt. She's got some kind of thick book in her right hand. * Miya blinks at the vine. * Miya points. "Um, where'd that come from?" * Alex walks over, since it's not his turn, and offers his hand to Delia. "Hey, I'm Alex Wilke." * Claire doesn't ask. Play game! *_* She starts up the game. "Everyone ready?" * Max sits down, and the vine shrinks, then vanishes. "Uum um. Er. That's uh. W- w-what I do." * Delia smiles a little and shakes with her free hand. Oh. That's pretty neat. * Miya has her controller. "Ready." * Max blinks. "R-really?" * Claire hits the start button. "Go!" Oh, um, one uh! * Eric brings down the block and rolls it back and forth. "Eh, ya want me to break, Alex?" * Miya nods with a little smile. "Yeah. Um, Eric and Claire can make stuff move, but I never met anyone who can make stuff grow. Like, plants." * Max dies horribly relatively quickly. * Miya plays! And drops bombs! She must have done this before. (THUMBS UP!) It's a great power, man. * Claire plays... like Miya. She must have done this before, too. I uh ... thanks. * Delia goes to take a seat on a seperate chair, and settles down to read. * Miya gets blowed up by one of Claires bombs, respawns, and goes right back at it. * Max spends about six seconds reading through the manual, then proceeds to get back into the game. He doesn't die as easily, this time. * Eric breaks. It's a very clean break, but doesn't give Alex any 'gimmie' shots. * Alex wanders back over to the table. * Claire plays with ease. She's pretty gewd. (We playing 8-ball?) * Alex eyes the table and makes a face. "That's not very nice." * Max slowly gets better, not to Claire's level, but becoming marginally proficient rather quickly. (It's a party in the boat house! XD) * Miya gets blown up by one of Max's bombs. * Eric smiles. "What's not so nice?" ( Boat house? ) (It's a boat.... HOUSE.) (That's where the games are, yes.) Oops, um sorry uh Miya. * Miya shakes her head. "Nuh uh. You're s'posed to do that." * Claire runs around dropping bombs and collecting powerups. She laughs. "Heheh. This game is so much fun, I bet they'll make a ton of sequels." Um. What would be different about it? * Eric waves over at Delia. "Hey, who're you?" Probably nothing! They'd just make new versions that were basically the same thing. * CheshireCat 's [grin] and eyes appear just above a chair-back, followed quickly by a fade-in of the rest of a purple cat to go with them. The cat is watching the game-playing with interest, and apparent amusement. * Miya looks up at the 'who are you' from Eric, and her bomber guy dies. "Aww." * Delia lays her book on her lap, looks over at Eric, and starts.. making quick signs with her hands. Your break. You left me nothin', man. * Max looks up as well, but seems to be playing all right without looking. (Quick, who knows sign language? :P) ( I do. ) ( Not me...but I've not spent any SP at all yet. ) (Nooot me.) (...) * Eric glances back. "I could make at least three shots from that. Com'on, think a little. It's all about the diamonds." (How can you play a character without knowing their _skills_?) * Alex frowns and sets up a quick shot. "Nine in the center." * Alex takes the shot and misses horribly. He's not very good. ( Take lots of video gaming skills. ^^ ) (Eric's got a good gaming skill. ^^) * Claire plays and plays, and dies. She grumbles. * Eric scratches his head. "Anyone speak sign?" I speak a lot of other stuff. Does that count? * Delia frowns a little and goes back to her book. Hmm? I do. Who's signing? * Eric takes his shot while he waits for a response. "Fifteen in the corner pocket." He shoots and winces. It would have made it in, if he hadn't shot it so hard. The ball ricochets around into another dead zone. * Miya looks at Delia, eyes barely peeking over the back of the couch, then says, "Um. I don't think so, Claire." * Eric points over at Delia. * Claire blinks at Miya. And winds up dying because of it. "Gyah!" * Alex looks over at Delia and tries to get her attention. * Miya giggles a little. * Miya goes back to playing! * Max gives the cat a quick glance, then quickly looks back to the game, then over at Delia. * Eric taps Delia on the shoulder softly with a giant foam finger. After it gets her attention, he has it point over to him and Alex. * Delia looks up at Eric irritably. ~My name is Delia Raymer.~ * Eric blinks. ~Hey, you talkin' in my mind?~ ~I'm talking in *everyone's* mind.~ Interesting. So you're a telepath. * Max winces, and dies because of it. (Um. I don't think you can ~ unles syou can ~. ^_^;) Can you hear us? (..What?) (I was talking at Eric.) (Ohh.) ~Perfectly.~ (If Delia is reading my mind, she can read my thoughts. So basically, that's a 'her only' thing.) (Unless someone else has detect thoughts automatically. ^^;) Ah, good. * CheshireCat looks at each person present, as if trying to decide something. Being a cat, said decision is obviously important. Seeming to decide with a rather human nod, the cat hops down and does the cat-rub thing to Max. "Pet the kitty." Like I said, I'm Alex Wilke. Pleased to meet you, Delia. Yeah, pleased to- oh Goddammit I dodged that! * Eric nods. "Eric Vallejo here. Just wanted ta ask your name, Delia." * Miya nearly drops her controller, looks around, then smiles sheepishly. "Um, hi." She dies again. ~It's very nice to meet all of you. Sorry about the surprise.~ Less of a surprise than you might expect. * CheshireCat fades out. Sally walks out of a corner, sunglasses in place. "That's alright, deary. It's nice to meet you." * Max jumps about out of his skin as the cat touches him. "Ah! Um! Er. uh." You get used to it around- Ha! I got the detonator! * CheshireCat is now known as Sally * Eric snickers. "No prob. They've been lookin' for students recently. I think they need to fill up the roster for the baseball team before the school year starts." He snickers. * Claire runs around with bombs that explode ON COMMAND! * Max is dying a lot, now. Sucks to be him. * Delia smiles and continues reading. * Miya plays some more. Hey, Alex, you're up. Up for what? * Alex is kinda distracted. * Max dies to Miya, mostly because he is eyeing the cat/girl thing warily. * Eric looks at where Alex is looking. What's he looking at? * Alex is looking at Delia. * Delia looks over at Alex curiously. Okay, we know you like th- ya know, maybe you could be a bit mo- are you listening to me? * Sally is just leaning with an elbow on the back of a chair, presumably watching people through those sunglasses. She spares a small (for her) smile for Max when she notices him eyeing her. * Alex shakes his head a bit and turns back to the pool table. * Delia goes back to reading. * Miya yelps and nearly drops her controller again, then goes back to playing. * Harry says, outside the door. "Knew I could find the place," and then walks in with his slender green eyed brown haired self. He looks around. "And it's packed." * Harry is carrying two books now, and a pencil-bag-like-thing on top of them, in his right arm. It sure is. And here I never got an invitation. I'd wondered where everyone went. * Claire plays furiously! She looks a little stressed. * Delia looks up at Harry, blinks, and once again goes back to her book. * Max is looking mighty distracted, so is dying a lot. Eh, it just kinda happened. There's room for one more person, if anyone wants in...? * Jai follows. He's a sixteen year old rather large guy of apparent Indian (the nation) ancestry. He's got one a sports jersey and training pants that fit kinda lumpily as if they might be covering something else. He's extremely fit looking, but not beyond that of a pro/college athlete. * Miya gets blown up some more, but she's more or less keeping her attention on the game. * Delia ..well, it sounds a little like a giggle but it's hard to tell. In any case, her eyes flick over to Alex. * Eric spies the door. "Hey, another one! What's your name? I'm Eric." * Eric snickers. "And did you just follow Harry here?" (We need personality types for all these. ^^) * Harry walks towards the pool table with his books and pencil bag, and eyes the table. "Ran into him on the way." (Yeeeup.) (Oh, hell.) (And alignments, if people don't mind.) Literally or not? (I will submit to your draconian testing regime.. later.) * Jai waves. "Hello Eric. And name's Jai. And yeah, followed Harry down, was a little tired on the way in." (Max is GPPB. Green Paranoid Plant Boy.) * Harry looks up at Eric. "No, not literally, beacuse I'm not f... blind." Looks down at the table. "Did you just start?" * Eric snickers. "Well have a seat. Yeah, I broke, it's Alex's turn." * Alex frowns down at the table and sets up an absolutely hopeless double bank to drop the nine ball into the corner nearest the TV. * Alex shoots, and just as he does so, he jumps. The cueball jumps up off the table and rolls across the floor to stop near the SNES. * Eric winces. "Ouch." There's a scratch if I've ever seen one. * Alex turns to glare at Delia. "What did you say?" * Sally waltzes over and picks up the cue-ball. * Delia is smiling and reading her book. (What's Eric's power? It's basically the Green Lantern's. Make giant weapons to beat people up with!) *holding it up casually as she walks over to the pool-people* Somebody lose something? Alex lost his ball. * Alex turns purple and shakes with rage, fists balled at his sides. Tsk, tsk. A man should keep track of those. *delicately sets the ball down on the pool table, in the proper place to replace it from a scratch* ...what's wrong, Alex? * Harry looks at Alex like he's a lunatic, because he freaking is. Don't tell anybody. Don't you DARE tell anybody. * Miya looks behind her, to the pool table. * Delia is fighting hard not to break out in a grin. ( SNES :P ) * Max dies again, and puts down the controller. "I uh t-think I need more practice." * Eric raises an eyebrow at Alex. "What's got ya bugged up now?" * Claire looks disappointed at Max. "Oh." * Jai wanders around checking out the room. He doesn't seem to pay all that much attention to TVs and such unless they're showing sports. He glances at Alex briefly but seems to be more taking it all in. * Alex turns back towards the pool table and tries visibly to calm himself. "Nothing. Nothing is wrong. It's your shot." Anyone else up for a game? * Eric takes the cue and puts it down, lining up an even shot for the 15 ball he missed earlier. "15 in the corner." He shoots and scores. S-s-sorry, but um I uh think I'm going to uh ... go. * Jai looks to Claire. "What kind of game?" Bomberman. Or Gauntlet. Or maybe something else. I can check the box. * Miya fixes her gaze on Jai for a little before fidgeting. Aw, what's wrong, kiddo? We've not even been properly introduced yet. *she's speaking to the nervous green boy* * Max stands up and puts up the hood." It um was nice to uh m-meet you all." See ya later Max. Gettin' tired or what? * Claire waves. "See ya Max. Thanks for playing." Y-yes. Tired. * Delia gives a little half-wave to Max. (Is Sally, like, older than everyone, or just dismissive? ^_^;) Oh well. See you in the morning then, Max. * Miya nods. "Okay." She smiles a little. "Nice meeting you." * Eric shrugs. "I really wouldn't know too much about that. Sleep well." ^^ * Jai blinks, looks confused for a moment, "Oh, right. No thanks, not my sorrt of game." * Harry rubs his forehead, then says, "See ya later for sure, Max." ( More 'familiar'. She -acts- older, perhaps. She's 17. Note she calls everyone 'deary', 'dear', 'sweetie', or 'kiddo'. ) (She IS older.) (I *think* Eric's older than her. Depends on what month she's born on.) * Claire sighs. Then turns to Miya and smiles. "I guess we're the only players. Wanna try Contra 3?" ( Eric: Not decided as of yet. ) * Max makes his way out of the room, being exceedingly careful not to actually touch people as he does so. He vanishes out the door. (Okay. The game is taking place mostly during summer break/start of school, right now.) ( Thanks. ) * Eric shrugs. "Guess everyone's got their secrets. Like yours, Alex?" He smiles. * Harry rolls his eyes, then searches for somewhere to sit. * Miya looks at Claire, blinks, and then nods. "Okay." I don't have any secrets. * Claire grins, then goes about setting up the SNES. It doesn't take her long at all. Sure ya don't. 13 in the side pocket. Mmm... anyone mind if I smoke? A pool game just doesn't look right without a little cloud over it. Ugh. * Jai stands a bit near the edge of the room, seems like he's still getting a grip on the overall situation. He's also paying some attention to the pool game. * Alex jumps. * Eric shoots and makes this one too. "I don't mind much, but I think the more health-conciencous would." ~Please don't.~ * Alex turns to glare at Delia. "I am SO not answering that." Is smoking allowed on school grounds? * Harry takes Max's spot in the seating arrangement, which puts him over by Miya and such. "Can't bother me much, I'm always sick." He coughs to emphasize his point, then open up his notebook-like book. * Eric hmmms... "9 in the corner." He shoots and misses, the cue lining up for a decent shot. "You're up." * Claire pokes Miya. "And do you want the 30-lives code? *sigh, then small smile at the telepath girl* Okay, I won't. ...and quit pestering Alex. It's rude to ask him questions without letting the rest of us hear. ^_~ * Eric snickers. "Yeah, really." Thirty lives- * Miya laughs a little and fidgets. "Oh yeah. Okay." ~It's a very interesting story, though.~ * Claire enters the code. 30 lives! Woot! (... Great, now I want to get Eric a motorcycle TOO.) * Miya now has thirty lives! * Claire does too! She hits start. ( Wow, socially, Max and Sally are near polar opposites. ^^; ) So, where'd ya go for dinner Sally? * Harry frowns at his book, then sighs and turns a page and pulls three pencils out of his bag, and a small knife. It is NOT an interesting story. * Claire runs around, shooting aliens. * Miya does, too! But more dying on her part. Stupid aliens. Mm? Oh, I went out, seeing what kind of restaurants are local. Just had some McDonalds, though. * Sally bends down and looks over Delia's shoulder. "Whacha readin', dearie?" * Eric nods. "As long as I'm here, we got pretty much anythin' you could want, though. No rice, unfortunately. I need ta bug Daegal to put it on the grocery list next time." * Miya wrinkles her nose as she hears McDonald's. * Harry uses the knife to sharpen the pencils and idly watches Miya and Claire die to aliens. * Claire picks up a laser. * Miya doesn't! And dies again. ;_; Make us a pizza, Eric But we just ate? * Claire shoots an alien. "Oooh! Spread weapon! Get it, Miya!" Oh! * Miya gets it! XD * Claire cheers * Eric makes a pizza all right. It spins on Claire's head. (New York style) * Miya giggles. And blows up a lot of aliens. * Sally doesn't stop peeking at Delia's book to see what it is, but says to Eric, "Oh, if you would be so kind, I would love a tuna sandwich. Haven't had any fish yet today." * Claire winces and dies. "Hey!" She lifts the pizza off her. It goes splat on the ceiling. * Delia is reading a description of Babylonian burial rituals. She doesn't respond to Sally. * Jai glances over at Claire and the whole pizza business, again with the confusion, though seems to be an increasingly (so this is normal now), confused look. "'ey, can I call next pool game." Not funny, Eric. Sure, once Alex makes his move. * Eric watches the 'za vanish. "Eh, that was good pizza too." * Claire hmphs and goes back to her game. Meanwhile, a pillow flings itself off the sofa at Eric. Thanks. (Oh no, a TK pillow fight.) * Eric ducks just in time, the pillow flying past and impacting Alex, unless he ducks too. "Gah!" * Jai paces a bit, not so much a nervous or disturbed pacing, just an energy to burn sort. * Harry finishes with his sharpening and twists in the chair to get comfy, and starts sketching. * Sally musses Delia's hair and stands up again, turning her attention back to the pool game. In particular, walking up to just next to Alex. "Well, then, Alex, please, don't keep a lady waiting. Make your move." She catches the pillow before it hits Alex. Oh, it's my shot? * Delia frowns and tries to fix her hair. * Alex turns back around to face the table. Yes, hello? * Alex finally spots a decent shot and sinks a ball. Unfortunately, it's one of Eric's. 'Twould seem so. *lightly baps Alex with the pillow before tossing it back at the console gamers. * Miya ends up with a pillow in her face and dies. "Eep!" * Eric frowns. "Well, you still got another shot." * Delia sighs and watches the entire scene over the top of her book. * Claire grumbles. Uh, yeah. Sure. * Alex shoots again, and changes the possition of basically every ball, but fails to sink even a single one. * Alex sighs. "Told you, I'm not very good at pool." * Eric hmmms. "Yeah, I see that." * Eric licks his lips and lines up a shot, firing the cue-ball around the table and sinking two of his own balls, and one of Alex's, on the way. ( *makes a final decision* Sally's going to have some ranks of Pool Playing. ) (... How silly.) * Eric frowns. "That wasn't supposed to happen." He makes a shot purposefully to give Alex a poor position. * Sally leans on the table close to, but not touching, Alex. "I'll have to teach you sometime, then, Alex." Was that a wink behind those sunglasses? * Alex frowns and tries to concentrate on the game. He shoots way to hard and ends up sinking one of Eric's balls along with his own. * Harry draws. And coughs. And watches Contra idly. "Is the whole... point of that to kill things?" Yeah. Why? Um, well. Yes? * Eric snickers. "Sure, you can 'teach' him a thing or two if ya want." * Delia frowns and flicks a page of her book. * Sally [grins] at Eric from her position across the table from him. "I'd appreciate that promissed sandwich now, please." * Harry looks down at the paper. "Seems pretty silly, is all. I guess I never got video games." * Alex scoots a bit away from Sally as he lines up a second shot, and utterly bungles it, leaving Eric with at least two perfect shots. me blasts apart the boss of that level. "Guess so." ( *pointlaugh* ) Damn it. * Miya kinda tries to avoid the blasts from the boss and ends up dying a couple times anyway. * Eric looks over the pool and thinks. He takes one of the shots, easily sinking it. The second is a bit more difficult, but he sinks it too. But that 8 ball is in just the wrong place. Eric just shoots to sperate the two, and ends there. Alex has an easy shot on one of his balls with this one. Um, well. They're pretty fun. Eh, which sandwich was that again? * Eric smiles back at Sally. * Harry presses his lips together and draws a bit more. "Really? Just seems like a lot of button pressing. I mean, an elevator isn't fun." * Jai keeps to the edge of the room, watching the game. Tunafish, please. :9 That's different. * Alex takes the easy shot, and does his best to leave crap for Eric, but just can't do it. He leaves ERic with a shot he'll have to try to make, but not very hard. It's not just button pressing. It's timing, strategy, player skill, all sorts of stuff. Um. An elevator only goes up and down? Yeah. That's not exciting. Unless it's Elevator Action! Tunafish? Well, I guess that'd make sense. I'll see what they have in the fridge after this. ^^; * Miya blinks. "Elevator action?" Oh, I thought you'd just *poof* make it a appear like the pizza. Don't put yourself out, dear, I'm not famished. Thanks though. ^_^ * Claire nods and grins. "Yeah! I can show you later. It's a fun game." While she's talking, she dies. "Grrr..." She gets vengeance on the mook that killed her! * Eric hmmms and lines up his shot. He taps the cue and is *almost* too cautious, but it finally edges into the hole. "Good game Alex. We'll teach ya how to play yet." Maybe. Eh... Well, you know how the object vanishes a while after I make it? * Harry rubs his head, then mutters, "Nevermind," and draws a bit more. Would you want to eat something and then have it cease existing? Sounds like a perfect diet food. * Eric grins. "This is true." * Miya hears that. "But, um. Then you'd be hungry again." This is also true. So you just make your unhealthy desserts that way. ^_~ Mmm... Ravioli. Oy, but I really could use a smoke. I'll just step outside a bit then. * Sally saunters out the door, pulling out a long black stem-like thing as she goes. * Alex looks hungry now. YOu just had to start talking about food, didn't you? See ya Sally. Uh, yeah. What else do ya talk about? (<-- Easily Distracted: Food) I don't know. * Alex shakes his head a bit. "I think I'm gonna go work out for a while." * Miya rolls her eyes and dies again. "Um, after this, wanna go outside and do something?" Eh, sure. Okay. * Harry sighs and leans back in his chair. "How about pool. Are you two done? This drawing's going nowhere." Sure, you and Jai can take a round or two. I'll just watch. ^^ Okay. What do you want to do? * Alex exits stage left. I dunno. We could try that basketball thing? How do you play basketball, anyway? * Claire makes a face. ( ...Miya's gonna roooock. ) (Snerk. Miya? Oh yes.) Eww... Sports. (Even with a no-power rule, she'd rock. ;P) * Jai looks to Miya with a sudden grin. "Yo." * Harry closes his drawing book, picks all the junk up, and walks over to the pool table, where he finds somewhere to put stuff. A slight smirk. "Hey, something I agree with." * Miya yelps and dies again. She looks at Jai. "Um. Hi?" * Jai waves he seems a good bit more at ease. "Name's Jai. Pleasure to meet you." * Miya smiles nervously. She bows her head. "Miya Yortiomi. Nice to meet you." And she goes back to trying to keep herself from dying much. I could take you flying if you rather, Miya. * Harry looks over at Eric, then Jai, then Eric again. "I think he's out." (We're getting power fluxes here, might discon...) * Miya blinks. "Flying?" And then she sounds a little more eager. "Really?" Sure! I can lift anything with my telekinesis! * Miya grins. "Cool!" * Claire grins back. * Jai gives a partial bow back and then seems disappointed at the sudden switch to flying. I mean sure Miya's tiny, but given this crowd that probably means she's really good or something. ( But Claire hates sports, Jai :P ) * Eric shrugs. "Sure, okay." * Jai looks back to Eric and Harry. "So, pool?" * Claire blasts another alien, cursing as she dies once. * Harry nods. "Yeah, why not? It's been a while since I've actually, uh, gotten to a pool table." * Eric snickers. "Get used to it. They got both kinds of 'pool' here too." * Miya gets blown up again and runs out of lives (yes, all thirty), setting down her controller. They do? Cool. * Harry chuckles a little. "Never really got much of that either." He racks 'em up. It's nothin' compared to the Danger Room, though. * Jai walks over to the table, grabbing a stick and chalking it. * Claire does too, even though she's still got some lives. She stands up and smiles to Miya. "Ready?" ~The.. Danger Room?~ Danger Room? * Miya looks up and nods, grinning. "Okay. She looks at Delia and Jai. "And, um. The danger room's fun." She bows again. Nice to meet you. * Harry grabs a stick too, eyes it, and says, "Fun to watch, at least." So, cut throat? Yup, Danger Room. It's, like... The ultimate training room. * Miya hurries out of there. Walks not ports, even. (... You're going to have to clear that one up for me. My pool knowledge ends at knowing how to play 8-ball.) (Although Harry's probably doesn't. ^_^;) (Can do. Essentially each person defends five balls and try to sink the other ten. Each time you scratch you take out one of each of your opponents balls. Works for three people. Though you can just ask IC. :P) That some sort of extreme sport thing? (It's a very fun variant. ^^) * Claire waves. "So long everyone. Nice to meet you." She heads out after Miya. * Harry looks over at the leaving Claire and shakees his head, before turning to the tabl. "Uh, sure, why not." See ya Miya, Claire. * Delia stands up as well, heading for the door. Eh, yeah. You get to blow up stuff with your powers without, ya know, actually blowing stuff up. ^^ Later. So, who wants to break? * Delia is now known as Will * Harry coughs a few times and eeks aout a, "You two can go for it." * Jai comments a fairly even. "Oh." On the blowing stuff up. As if he's not sure what to make of it. * Eric passes. "Nah, I'm not playin this time around. Got somethin' else on my mind." * Harry smiles slightly, mostly to himself, "Is it food?" He gestures. "Go for it, Jai." * Eric snickers. "No, actually. I've been fixing up my car recently, wondering what I should do next." * Jai nods and lines up the first shot, he holds the pool ball right and hits the cue ball, causing it to break the with a fair amount of force scattering the balls around the table. A striped ball manages to go in. "Stripes, and eight- ball I'd presume?" * Harry frowns thinly, and says, "8-ball, yeah. What kinda car?" '69 Mustang Boss 429. Found'er really cheap from someone who didn't know how ta care for her. Been restoring it since. ... jesus christ. * Jai takes another shot, having downed one on his last shot, a fairly simple one that knocks another striped ball in, leaving five. * Harry watches Jai kick his ass at pool. "You are one lucky SOB, Eric." * Jai looks amused. "You got that cheap? Musta been a dumbass. mechanical skill or not." * Eric nods. "Serious dumbass. Still, what was I gonna say. 'No'?" * Jai takes a look around and tries as few shots. Nothing simple really available. He tries for a fancy bank shot but accidentally knocks in a solid ball. "Oh well. And guess my rusty pickup won't be impressing the chicks then." * Eric snickers. "I can see about makin' it a bit more presentable, if ya want." ( Jai should sing karaoke. ) * Jai considers the offer for a moment. "Guess I'll think about it. Works well enough though, and think I should get a handle on this whole mutant thing before I really worry about that kind of stuff." And you're up Harry. * Harry nods and frames up a shot. "Lot of other things to worry about around here anyway." He lets it fly, and it doesn't knock anyting in, but it does a good job of messing up the ball layout on the table. * Eric nods. "Eh, not so much once ya get into the groove of things." * Harry chuckles a little. "I dunno. This whole... uh... recruitment drive's got me all worried." * Jai shrugs at that and takes his shot. Still nothing good enough available so he breaks up some of the balls, hopefully leaving a better shot later. Uses a bit less force this time, seems his control isn't too bad. Pretty positive it's just a result of all the anti-mutant protesting. Heck, this wasn't the only offer that I got for schooling. When things calm down, I bet there won't be much else to worry aboot, right? * Harry mutters something to himself, then says, "Yeah, maybe." He lines it up and shoots, and actually sinks a solid. Woo for he. Eh, what am I sayin'. I really got lucky when it came ta powers. I don't look 'different' or nothin' from them, and my folks aren't exactly among the anti crowd. So I s'pose I'm gettin' off easy. * Jai shrugs again, "Eh, yeah, guess they'll get over it. Mine weren't really all that worried, though don't know what the guys would think. I mean, did I really beat 'em fair if I've got powers and they don't?" * Harry chuckles a little weakly. "Nobody got to really worry about that with me." He takes a shot, and it _almost_ sinks a ball, but not quite. Fooey. Yeah, that's a problem. Lotsa sports are gonna go non-powers, I think. * Jai goes to take a shot now that the tables been cleared a bit. Gets an easy bank shot, ball goes about right the way it's supposed to. "Yeah, that's what I'd figure. Can't blame them, but..." Kinda shoots a shot any of us has at athletics, I know. ( Yay! ) Probably, yeah, but who cares? Norms don't get to do any of the stuff you can. * Harry starts coughing. * Jai sinks another ball. "Guess what I've got is useful, particularly with that suit they gave me. Don't know what the hell I'm going to do with my life though. * Jai then doesn't see any real easy shot, so he contents himself with knocking Harry's ball out of the pocket and leaving him without an easy shot. "You're up." Eh, so what do you do? * Harry chuckles. "Well, go to school, for a start, right?" He eyes shots. Mostly sports. I figured I'd go to college and get slip on by because of lower standards for stars." He grins a little. "My brother always gripes about that sort of thing, say I should be able to exploit the system just fine." * Harry takes a bank-shot that sends another solid in, but puts the cue ball in the middle of nowhere, so he tries to tap it over into a corner instead of risk a shot, and ends up scratching it. "Damn." * Jai takes the cue ball out and lines it up for another easy shot. "And, this seems like a nice school and all, but it's not going to make me smarter." * Eric chuckles. "You'd be surprised. I hear they're gonna start bringing in real professors soon, other than relying on Hank." * Harry blinks, then says, "And why not? Have you seen the library? I never woulda found this book--" he taps the book he's been looking for "--in the NYC Public." * Jai snorts and lands another shot. "Books and professors can help you learn, but they don't make you smarter. Been to a good academy before, did about as well as I did in public later though the public was more fun." So, how do you get smarter then? * Harry mms a little. (Spend more CP on Mind!) (Brilliant!) (*smack*) ( Yu won't let me get any smarter ;_; ) (;_;) * Jai goes for a bank shot and misses. "You don't really. I mean you need some books and teachers to be your best, but they can only do so much if you aren't that bright to begin with. Like even if you train all the time, some people still couldn't even make the varsity team." (You're already a smartfreak. c.c;) * Jai gestures towards Harry. (And some people are Miya. Gwar har har har har.) * Jai gestures in a you're up sense, not a you can't compete sense. * Harry smirks thinly. "Hey, it's different when your body don't work so well." He walks over lines up, and takes his shot. No dice. * Eric nods. "Well, I'm not that strong, but I managed to hold my own and keep bullying down to a minimum. I'm sure that's gotta count for something." He grins. * Harry coughs a little. "Definitely different. And I think you can get smarter." * Jai takes a bank shot and makes it this time (one ball left). He then follows up with a miss. And he snickers. "Maybe. I could work damn hard and eventually get a nice job in Gun Maintenance or Hotel slash Restuarant management." * Eric snickers. "Eh, mechanical and electrical work pays very well, really." * Harry chuckles a little and says with a hint of nervousness. "Call me up on the gun maintenance thing." He takes a single bank and makes it easy, Then follows it with a tricky two-bank. Mabe, but it'll still be a hell of a lot less fun than sports. * Harry then completely botches his next shot, giving Jai an easy one. Yeah, but do you really want to keep that workout regemine that's needed for professional sports? * Jai sinks his last non-eight ball. "Nice shot earlier Harry. And yeah, I get kinda antsy if I'm not training or something. Eight ball, corner." He then manages to sink the eightball, in the wrong corner, seems he get his physics wrong. "Think I'll finish unpacking, catch you guys later." * Eric nods. "See ya later." His stomach growls angrily and loudly. "Think my metabolism's trying to tell me something. I'll be in the kitchen if ya need me. If not, the garage." * Eric waves out, heading back to the kitch- err, mansion.
