[ We find Our Mutie Freaks gathering around the breakfast table. Most of the adults are sleeping in today, so it's not crowded. Hank's there, eating cerial and pausing every so often to pluck one of his blue hairs out of the milk in his bowl. ] ( Ew >.< ) [ Hank also has a stack of books next to him. They all seem to be the same book; "The Three Musketeers" by Alexandre Dumas. ] * Eric is eating already. In fact, he was eating when Hank got here, too. Today's breakfast consists of a dozen-egg omlet with cheddar cheese, brocoli, ham, and peppers, as well as ten strips of bacon and a stack of eight or so pancakes. ( woot. I love that book. It rocks so hard. ) [ As each of you comes in, he holds up a copy for you to take. ] ( Do we get to read Ten Years Later and Twenty Years Later, too? ) * Miya flickers in. She must have gotten an early start on the day, since she's wearing slacks and a t-shirt, and she's not sweating at all. She says a quiet "good morning" before going about grabbing fruit and toast for breakfast. ( Probably. Gotta have the classics. ) * Claire takes one as she enters. "The Three Musketeers. In which there were actually four musketeers." (And, yeah. Eric really doesn't sleep. So he eats breakfast early.) [ Now that you're already showing up, Session Start! ;P ] * Claire is wearing a sleeveless low-cut top and a long black skirt. * Delia enters, wearing a t-shirt, jeans, and a light scarf around her neck. She takes a book and heads over to the fridge for milk. * Eric has a copy of the book and is already reading. "Mrfhfmmfhmf." [ The date today, just to be official, is September 10th, 1993. ] * CheshireCat is in the fridge, happilly lapping at a dish of thick cream on a shelf that seems to have been cleared to make room for her and it. She [grins] at people when they open the door to get stuff out. * Delia doesn't seem too surprised, closing the fridge door and preparing cereal. * Miya heads over to the table. She's wearing socks, but no shoes, and puts her toast and fruit down before having a seat. She doesn't seem to have noticed SallyCat. * Miya scoots in and puts sliced strawberries and banana on her toast before she eats it. [ Hank has more Cheerios. ] * Claire has French toast for breakfast. It's funny 'cause she's French. (If you say Kate and Yu in quick succession, it sounds like a sneeze.) (Almost everyone. _) ( So it does. ) * Claire pulls some syrup over to herself with telekinesis. She reaches up to grab it and misses, accidently cloncking herself in the head with the bottle. "Ow." * Yu-Mei is now known as Xivilai (Reads bios. "Okay. Not one, but *two* of you, have my birthday. This disturbs. ;p) * Miya blinks at the bottle and Claire. "Oops." * Eric snickers. * Delia sighs and takes a seat. * Claire grabs the syrup and poors it on her toast. * CheshireCat is now known as Sally [ Hank looks up at the sigh from Delia. "Something wrong?" ] * AlexD walks into the room. "Morning, guys!" For those of you who haven't met him, he's a young man of average height and build, with wavy, slightly long red hair and blue eyes. He's wearing a black t-shirt, blue and black flannel shirt, and blue jeans. * Sally fades in sitting in a chair at the table. "I'll have to do that more often. -That- was a good breakfast. And it never got warm and nasty!" * AlexD blinks. "Whoa. Lotsa new folks today." * Delia makes a few signs and digs in. Not that I've been here all that long, but... Hey Alex! What's up? Hi Alex. * Miya turns to look at Alex and smiles. "Um. Hi." Hey, Eric! Morning, Claire. Morning, Miya. * Miya goes back to her toast. Nice toast. * Sally is wearing a red T-shirt and blue jeans. And her sunglasses. For the record. * AlexD waves to the others. "I'm Alex. Alex Dietrich. Nice to meet you all!" [ Hank makes a few signs back and shrugs philosophically. ] * AlexD seems to be perpetually grinning, but it's a friendly, good-natured sort of grin. * Delia grins a little as she eats the cereal. * AlexD grabs the nearest empty chair and sits. ( Ha! We've got two! Two! Two perpetual grin people! ) (At least it's not creepy like Sally's. ;_;) Hello, Alex. Pleased to meet you. (Eric grins a lot too, oddly enough. Not like them, but he still grins a lot. <.<;) (Alex is not Aaron, for the record.) ( Claire smiles more than grins. ) * AlexD waves to Sally. "Nice to meet you too, uh..." We're going to need to come up with nicknames for our Alexes. With two, it could get confusing. *smiles, but doesn't [grin]* Sally. Sally Manners. That's right, I haven't met the other Alex yet. Heard there was one, though. I guess we'll just have to have a battle to the death or something in order to figure out who gets to be Alex and who gets to be something else. * AlexD winks. One of you can be Kirby. There's a fine name. * Miya finishes off a slice of toast and fruit, then blinks. "Um. If you fight to the death, doesn't that mean it doesn't really matter?" ( It looks like this Alex already lost. *points to the D* ^_~ ) (...) (KIRBY DEATH. >_<) We could call them Tweedledee and Tweedledum, but I think they might not like that. ( Was Kirby even around in '93? >.> <.< ) Uh, no. That's just wrong. ( Yes! XD ) (Yes. Gameboy and NES versions at the very least.) (Oh yes.) (At least on game boy. Maybe not NES.) * Eric rolls his eyes. "How about just callin' eachother by yer last names, eh?" * Alex walks in, right on cue. He's lookin' good this morning, like he's never had morning hair in his life. He's switched to mostly casual today, in a pair of dark brown khakis and an off-white button down shirt. "Hey, morning everybody." ( I think Kirby Superstar was around, too ) I guess I could go by my middle name. I like it better than my last. But first I gotta meet the other guy. * Miya turns, then points at the Alex who just walked in. "Um. And that's the other Alex." She pauses. "What's your middle name?" Yo other Alex. Speak of the devil... Brendan. Oh. * Delia looks over at the incoming Alex, grins a little wider, and goes back to her Cheerios. * AlexD looks at the other Alex. "So, you're the guy who has my name, huh?" No, your'e the guy who has MY name. That's okay, though. I'll share. * AlexD grins. "Yeah, okay." * AlexD walks over and holds out his hand. "Alex Dietrich." * Miya picks at her fruit and puts some in her mouth while the Alexes talk. * Alex takes his hand and shakes firmly. "Alex Wilke." So, where're ya from, dude with good taste in names? You're never gonna believe it. Try me. Nebraska. There are people who're from there? Um. Sounds like someone's from there. Yeah, there are. * AlexD blinks. "What's so strange about that? Though for a minute I thought you were gonna say Seattle, which is where I'm from, and that woulda been majorly freaky. I thought it was just a big place to store our extra land. It's Wyoming that's the empty state. Nah, that's Wyoming. * AlexD looks over at Eric. "Dude." Eh, what? * Harry comes in, brown haired and green eyed. He seems to like green eyes now. He sees Hank and grins, taking the offered book. "Finally going to do something educational?" You sure you're not the telepath? Oh, right. Sorry, I get those confused aaall the time. Flunked geography 4 times. *her tone indicates she's joking. Maybe* * Alex takes the book. "Hey, cool. Is the book better than the movies?" [ "Finally?" It's only been one day. ] ~I think he's sure.~ Pretty damn sure. * Miya glances at Harry, blinks, and then asks, "Harry?" Harry's brain was already making tummy-rumbly noises, though, Dr. McCoy. Eh, he was complainin' his brain was rottin'. * Harry smiles a little. "Yeah. It's been almost four years." He looks over at Miya. "Hey, Miya." * AlexD blinks and looks over at Delia. "Was that you?" [ "Oh, well, we'll have to do something about that." ] * Delia nods and finishes off the cereal. Cool. So, uh, what's your name? ~Delia Raymer.~ Nice to meet you, too. * AlexD looks at Harry. "And I don't think I've met you yet, either. I'm Alex. Not to be confused with Alex." He points at the other Alex. * Sally tossles Delia's hair. "Nice to 'hear' you talking to everyone this morning." ^_^ * Claire eats French toast. "So, who's up for some Double Dragon after breakfast?" * Delia fixes her hair and makes sure the scarf is still in place. * Sally didnt' touch the scarf. * Eric shakes his head. "Not t'day Claire." [ "Not me. If Bobby ever gets out of bed, he might join you." ] * Harry clutches the book closely and turns to AlexD. "I don't think I'll mix you up much." Aw... He'll be asleep all day. * Alex stays well away from Delia and grabs himself a couple pieces of toast. * Harry frowns to himself and tries to figure out what the food order of the day is, and how much he can get of it. Um, I was thinking I might want to find out how to play basketball? Maybe? * AlexD grabs a bowl of cereal, sits back down in his chair next to whoever, and digs in. * Max walks in, hood up. He pauses upon entry into the room, just in the doorway, and the hood moves to scan the crowd. (And boy howdy what a crowd!) I'd actually like to try out that pool table, if anyone's up for that. Or perhaps play with the Danger Room some. If our dear teacher would be so kind as to allow it. (Fortunately, the kitchen's huge.) * Harry coughs a few times before opening the fridge. ( Lucky for Harry, Sally's not in there anymore. ) * Miya slides a grape over her plate with a finger. She doesn't seem to have noticed Max. "I mean, um. If anyone wants to teach me anyway." I'll teach ya. Basketball is fun. Time for that later, though. I think we've got class now. I'm not the best in the world, but I'm okay and it'd be fun. Oh? Aww. * Harry pulls out gobs of foodstuff and carries them over to the table. Fruits, veggies, cheeses and cold cuts. Obviously not a breakfast person Hey, basketball's always there when you need it. Man. I guess it is time for school to start. * Max walks in, and proceeds to walk to the nearest sunbeam, plop his self down in the middle of the floor, and pull back his hood. He's green, no surprise to most of you. He closes his eyes and sits there. * AlexD blinks at Max. "Uh, hi?" * Max raises one hand and waves weakly at AlexD. That's Max. He's a plant. Aha. Explains the greenness. Don't mind him; he's shy, Bernard. And actually -likes- the sun. What kind of insane person likes the sun? ^_~ Don't worry, though, he doesn't just veg all day. * Eric snickers. "I guess we should all be in a loony house, then." ... I like the sun. * AlexD groans. "Dude. That was bad." * Max almost manages a frown. And sun? Weird. Should be raining. Hey, the sun is a source of life and cheerfulness. And a good tan. * AlexD winks. [ Hank looks at Harry. "How long you had that cough?" ] Ugh, tan. Well, for those of you who *do* tan. * Harry looks up. "Uh? Oh. Months, I think. A summer cold. I hate them." He picks up a cheese and gnaws. I told you to see Hank about that cough. Sometimes, I like just laying out in the sun and soaking up energy. You part plant, too? * Harry rolls his eyes. "Had it for months, and it hasn't killed me yet. Can't be that bad." [ "Months? That won't do. Are you taking medicine for it?" ] I don't think so. (Yeah, I know Eric's immune to radiation, and thusly immune to sun burn.) But the sun on your skin feels so good. * Harry frowns and looks straight at Hank. "How would I know what to take?" Where I come from, it's rare. So I guess it's pretty special. ~Pharmacists tend to have thick glass between them and the product, so..~ * Delia is looking over at Harry as she says this. * Harry is ignoring Delia. Talking to Hank now. * Delia pulls out the book and starts reading. * Sally turns her chair around, and sits straddling the back with her arms on top of it, head resting on arms, facing Hank. "So, Teach, what's the official order of business today?" * AlexD settles in and eats some more. * Max opens his eyes, but doesn't stand up. Uh um hi everybody. S-sorry I didn't uh say it before. * Alex stands halfway across the room, about as far away as he can possibly get away from Delia. * AlexD looks at Alex. "Somethin' wrong?" * Miya looks a little confused, then notices Alex edging away from Delia. Hey, Delia... Why's Alex being paranoid about ya? * Alex scowls at Delia. "Please don't do that." Man, it's gonna take me a while to get used to havin' another Alex around. Back home, I was the only one. Delia, are you being mean again? Share waht you're saying ot alex with all of us, so we can all share in the fun. ~It's nothing.~ If you can't say something to everyone, don't say it at all. *said in the "If you can't say something nice..." tone of sing-song, followed by a [grin]* [ Hank shrugs and nods to Harry. "After you eat, I'm taking you to the medical room to give you an exam." ] * Delia frowns and keeps reading the book at a faster-than-usual pace. * AlexD raises an eyebrow, but goes back to finishing his cereal. I'm sure it's just between them. Hey, let's go play Ikari Warriors. ( Ikari Warriors! ) * Harry eats a carrot. "Alright.. Doc." More videogames. * Alex sighs. * Miya finishes her toast and fruit, washes it down with juice (XD) and grabs her plate and cup. She stands, tenses a moment, then catches sight of Sally and walks to the sink to clean dishes instead. I'm confused. Are we havin' class now, or what? Up to you, I think. * Sally notices, and smiles kindly. "Thanks, Miya." [ "Not really," says Hank. "Although I am assigning you classwork. Read the first chapter for tonight." ] Okay. * Max looks over to Hank. "A book assignment?" Ok! * Miya smiles nervously at Sally. "You're welcome." She washes the dishes and glances at the books. * AlexD eyes the books. "I think I read this one a few years ago for English class." Me too. Alrighty! ^_^ *snags a book* I hope you don't mind if we read more than jsut the first chapter. * Harry licks his lips and frowns to himself around a roll of ham-and-cheese. [ "Yup, a book assignment. Tomorrow we'll discuss it. I think my ribs will have knit by then. Anyone having trouble with the old, wordy english, please let me know." ] ( Lord, how many bibliophiles do we have? ) * Eric puts it down, already a good portion through. Wh-what book? (Eric's not! He just has too much time on his hands. ^^;) ( She's no bibliophile, but she hates letting a story go unfinished. ) [ Hank holds up a copy of "The Three Musketeers". "This book." ] ('sides, what else is she going to do in the dark in her room at night?) [ Hank has a smaller pile of them near him than he did at first; most of you have a copy now. ] * AlexD grabs a copy. "Righto. So, who's up for some b-ball in the meantime, then? Miya, you still wanna learn?" * Claire points. "That book." * Sally tucks the book in a back pocket of her jeans for now, and gets up to help Miya with the dishes. * Miya smiles at the Seattle Alex as she rinses dishes. "Yeah!" And then she tones down a little. "I mean, if it's okay with you..." * Harry mutters to himself and then starts eating faster. * AlexD grins back. "Sure! S'why I offered." * Max closes his eyes again. "On the first Monday of the month of April, 1625, the market town of Meung, in which the author of Romance of the Rose was born, appeared to be in a perfect state of revolution as if the Huguenots had just made a second La Rochelle of it." * Claire sighs. It, um. Was a good book. * Miya sets down the rinsed dishes. "Huh?" Pause. "Oh." * AlexD looks at Max. "You musta really liked it if you can do that." I'm up for it. * Eric chuckles. "Eh, don't leave me out of it." Guess I'll go play Zelda again. * Max stands up. "I um will come along, I s-suppose." You sure you don't wanna come with, Claire? We can all play video games later. * Miya nodnods. * Harry suddenly coughs, which stops his eating dead in his tracks. He sits there looking at the food for a second, then says, lamely, "Doc? I think I'm done." But sports are so boring. * Delia stays at the table, book open. [ Hank applauds. "Well done, Max. I guess you don't need this copy, then." ] I think I'll join you guys, too. --you okay, Harry? You ever try playin' em? ...huh? * Max blushes. Green. "N-no sir." * AlexD looks over at Harry. * Miya walks over to pick up a copy and flip through. * Miya 's eyes widen in horror. * Eric opens his trap and pours the rest of his omlet down it. He chews for a good minute and swallows. "What's wrong Miya?" [ "Well, then you can read something else, preferably something equally wordy and pretentious, even better if it's by Dumas. Lemme know what you pick." ] I bet she can't read english. ... What? * Miya looks up at Alex. You CAN read english, right? * Harry stands shakily, grabbing an apple and the book. "I... think I'm just not used to eating again." S-sure she can. [ "And as for you," he says, pointing at Harry, "Let's go get you examed. If you need, I can carry you there?" ] * Miya snaps her book shut, harder than it should be. There's no wavering in her voice, for once. "Yes. I learned it in school." What's wrong then, Miya? You don't like the book? * Harry starts walking. "No, I can still... walk." He seems to physically pale, his hair and skin slowly turning whiter, as he does so. * AlexD blinks, confused, and stays out of it. (Does the walking, I mean.) * Alex walks over to Miya and whispers something in her ear. * Sally pat's Miya on the back. "You can keep me company when I read it, then. Maybe we can take turns reading quotes. It'll be more fun that way." *pats * Miya blinks, and looks at Alex, puzzled. And then she gets distracted by Sally. "Oh. Um, maybe." [ Hank leads Harry out of the kitchen. ] * Max watches them go, then looks around at the rest of the people. I... just have trouble with some of the words. That's all. What language do you speak natively? Eh, you'll do fine! Japanese? I'm sure there'll be lotsa people who'll help you out if you want. Yeah. I'll help you, Miya. I can explain it in Japanese if you don't understand something. Yeah. We've gotta stick together, right? * Alex blinks a couple times, then looks thoughtful and says in excellent, if slightly accented, Japanese, * AlexD blinks. "Dude. How many of you guys who aren't from Japan speak Japanese?" Man, this is just confusin' me. (What the hell is with the multilingualness? ^^;) ( I've had it since the first game! ) (Don't ask me. I know why _my_ character knows languages, and I can guess Max. ^_^;) (Been part of the character for ages, man. I'm not sure who else has it.) (Eidetic memories are cool.) (Delia only knows Spanish and Silan. :P) * Sally blinks. "Impressive. Maybe I'll get you to teach me some japanese sometime. Would be cool to speak a foreign language." (Admittedly Alex speaks German, but it's more high school German than a true understanding of the language. ;p) * Miya nods, looking a little relieved. "" Her accent's alarmingly different from all you Tokyo-proper-dialect people, almost to the point of being difficult to understand. * Max smiles, just a little. * Alex nods, satisfied. Anyway, if you need help, just ask. Yeah, whatever. So, Alex, you wanna do somethin'? Me or him? Yeah. I could go for some basketball. * AlexD points at the Other Alex. * Alex jumps out of his skin. Sweet jesus jehosephat. S'wrong? Nothing! Nothing at all. * Eric points at AlexD. * Alex looks a little paranoid. You sure? * Miya looks confused. Him. :P Yeah. We're gonna need another way of tellin' us apart. This is already confusin' me. Yeah, what's wrong, Alex-of-the-power-that-shall-not-be-named? * Claire finishes her food. * Miya looks confused for a bit more, then finally says, "Um. I'm gonna go put my book away and... stuff. I'll be outside?" I guess I can come. I'll reread this book while you guys play. And maybe play Kirby, too. You should exercise a bit more. Eh, whatever anyways. Let's play some hoops. Hell yeah. * Eric goes out to the basketball court(s)! I'm there! * Miya turns to leave, then blinks. "Hoops?" * AlexD heads out, humming a few bars of "We Will Rock You." * Claire gets up and floats after. "Excercise is boring." I find people more interesting than pictures on the television. Basketball, Miya-dear. * Max follows, pulling up his hood as he goes. ... Oh. * Miya scratches at the back of her head, then walks around the corner for Sally's benefit before there's a quick flash and she's gone. Come on, let's go. *saunters after the others, pushing her glasses up further on her nose* We've got enough for a REAL game now, or close enough. Yes, Mr. Alex. You've made your disposition clear. * Sally 's sunglasses, when they get outside in the sunlight, darken still further, becoming remarkably perfect mirrors. "I hear they've got a jet under the basketball court here," she says with a conspiritorial grin. Actually, the jet is more over that way. * Eric points over a ways. I see. We'll have to visit it later, then. [grin] Seriously? * Max follows along, all flesh covered. Nothing like a jet for getting around. There's something to be said for flying under one's own power. But sadly, few of us can do that. That'd be cool. * Claire shrugs. "If you guys need to fly somewhere, I can take care of that. Well, it's not *need*, exactly, but I'd love to try it sometime if you were willin'. * Max walks past a shrubbery. It forms itself into a flying saucer. >_> I want to be on Claire's team. * Eric snickers. "Well, I do know how to fly a plane, and I'm familiar with how jet engines work." * AlexD blinks. "Dude. I'm so gonna have to get used to how things work around here." * Sally drapes an arm over AlexD's shoulder. "Chaotically, from what I've seen, dear boy." S'about what I thought. * Sally steps lightly away, giving herself room to stretch grandly with a low groan of pleasure. "Despite it's brightness, there's something to be said for a warm sun." * AlexD looks around. "So, who's on what team?" * Max looks up.... and pauses for a moment. Eh, alright. First thing, no powers. * Delia tries to stifle a giggle and fails mightily. (And Delia goes off-screen.) Aw, why not? Powers are fun. ^^ * Harry walks outside, carrying a bottle, a book and holding a basketfull of stuff. Probably the food he left on the table when he hurried out. He's darkened his skin and his hair is just solid black. He makes no fuss as he wanders towards the cluster of people. Do you want the basketball to get blown up? No powers whatsoever? Well, no. I see you point. *pouts for a moment* Why not use powers? That's what we came to this school for, isn't it? To learn how. What's the fun in not using powers? You can do that anywhere. * Eric chuckles. "Okay, if ya wanna use powers, we can try. Don't say I didn't warn ya, though." * Miya appears in her bright photoflash. She looks around, then fidgets and hurries over to the others. I mean, I can't use mine anyway, but still. Maybe we should be doin' this in the danger room instead, though. Don't wanna go changing the landscape. * Eric grins. * Sally actually didnt' seem bothered by the flash this time. Must be the relative brightness of the outside. no, no powers. Please, no powers. Some of us would be so completely outclassed that I shudder to think of it. * AlexD shrugs. "Well, whatever." I'm sure your powers could be adapted to the game, Lex. * Max gestures. A section of grass grows and turns into a rather comfy-looking chair. He sits down. Lex? Oh, and you're Al. *points to AlexD, [grinning]* Works. * Alex frowns. "My powers are useless." What, and you think an abnormally large grin is useful in a game of basketball? :P * AlexD hums a little bit of "You Can Call Me Al." * Harry takes a seat near Max, starts pulling food from the basket, and makes with a slow eating. * Eric snickers. * Miya blinks, then looks at Max, over on the sidelines. She gives him a little wave. * Max pulls down his hood again, and basks in the sun. * Miya turns her attention to the others. "Okay, so no powers? Um, how do you play?" * Sally stands next to Miya, and waits for the boys to explain. It's their sport, after all. Mm.... Final Fantasy Legend. * Claire slips FFL into her Gameboy. "That's what I'll play." * Eric makes a basketball. He passes it to Alex (not AlexD). "Ball's over there. You're startin'." * AlexD looks at Miya and Sally. "Well, you gotta throw the ball through the hoop." * Miya looks up at the hoops. "Oh, okay. Which one?" And you can't run while carryin' it. You haveta dribble it. Like this. * Miya blinks. * AlexD looks around for the ball. "Hey, can I get a ball here?" * Alex grabs the ball and starts dribbling. "easy. The ball starts and doesn't stop. If it stops, you can't start again, gotta pass or shoot. If you take more than two steps while holding the ball, you're traveling and you lose possession. Ball goes in the hoop." ... Huh? Once we get teams, then we'll show you which hoop you gotta throw it through. * Miya scratches at the back of her head. She looks thoroughly confused. It's a little easier to show you than to tell, I guess. Watch Eric and Alex. See what they do. See what Alex's doin' with the ball? That's dribbling. * Max pulls up the sleeves on the sweatshirt, revealing rather scrawny green arms. He leans back on the chair again. * Miya nods. So you gotta dribble the ball down to your hoop, and shoot it. Of course, the other team's tryin' to block your way. * Harry leans back and sighs. "I wish I could eat like that." He picks up more food out of the basket and starts gnawing on it. * Alex tries to get past Eric. If you can't get past them, you can throw it to your teammate. * Eric tries to block him! And does a pretty good job, so Alex has to pass. * Sally steps onto the court. "I'm open." ^_^ * Alex sidesteps and passes around/under Eric to Sally. Like that, see? * Miya nods. "Okay." And now Sally's got the ball, and she can try and shoot it. * Sally catches it neatly, and starts dribbling. "Not from here I can't. Way to far." She walks forward a few feet, then runs to the side and up to try a layup...which she bungles, the ball slipping off her hand rather than flying up to the hoop. Oops. ^^; * Claire walks over to Max and has a seat next to him. In the air. "Hey." Now that she's dropped it, anybody can try and get it before it goes out of bounds. Where's the bounds? The lines at the end? If it does go outside the court, then the other team - in this case, Eric - gets it. And, yeah, that's it. The lines are the boundaries of the court. * Sally doesn't try to get it. She just walks towards the middle of the court. Oh, making a basket from inside this line is 2 points. From outside is 3 points. And contact should be kept to a minimum. No pushing, shoving, kicking, fighting... you know what I mean. Eh, got it? Heh. Explain about free-throws to her. I can actually make those. * Miya blinks. "Free throws?" Penalty shots, Miya. What'd you do? * Alex elbows Eric in the gut. "I fouled him." Take your shots, Eric. If one person fouls another one. Like tries to grab them or push them, or the stuff Eric says you shouldn't do. Or that. * Eric walks over to the free-throw line and makes a basketball. The person who gets fouled gets two free shots. Each earns you a point. * Eric shoots two shots. The first goes in, but the second misses. So, Eric gets one point from that. * Claire plays her game. And reads the book. She alternates. I dunno if I'm going to be able to keep track of all the points. * Eric hmmms... Hey Max! Would you mind being scorekeeper? * Max opens his eyes. "Um n-no." He sits up a little straighter in the chair. * Harry pulls out an orange and peels it, saying back, "I think Max is out to lunch. Or wants to be." * Harry eats the orange. Hey, wait, don't you only get a free-throw if you're fouled during an attempted shot? * Max plucks the peel from Harry's hands with a small tendril, and gnaws on it. He looks over the court and the people. Ah, yes. I think it depends on when in the game it is. But I don't think we're gonna hafta worry about it. * Eric nods. Technically. I mean, how bad are we gonna be? I don't think we're going to have to worry about it. Informal rules is no blood, no foul. Come on. If we're drawing blood, something's wrong. S'just a game, after all. If we're drawing blood, we'll need a red marker. So, we ready? Let's rock. (Y'all are actually going to RP basketball? <_<) ( Unlikely. ) ( You're all insane. ) ( Why not? We RP'd Bomberman twice. ) ( I don't have the time, or the willpower. ) (I feel a Blpivert coming on.) (Claire: Yes, and it was lame. ^_^;) I'd suggest girls v. boys, but you gentlement would have to lose, and that wouldn't be fair. ^_^ * Miya looks confused, then giggles. ( You're lame, Potter :( ) * Eric snickers. I dunno about that. * AlexD winks. (I'll Potter you!) Anyhow, if you wanna start two-on-two, I'll sit out the first part. ( I just got the image of Harry (our Harry) pulling out a wand. "Clairicus Explodicus" ) Eh, yeah. We could cycle players. ( Haha pwned. ) Yeah, that sounds good. Oh, I'm not very good, so why don't we let Miya play with more experianced players? I'll wait my turn. Okay. Miya, you wanna be my teammate? ( Too bad Greg's not in this. Jai would own you all. ) * Miya nods, smiling nervously. "Okay." (Hehe. ^^ Miya'll be scary once she knows how to *play*.) * Eric makes another basketball, this one spinning on his finger. "Let's get some basketball going then." * Sally applauds at the end of the game. "Miya, you're a natural!" ("Prepare to fastforward!" "Preparing to fastforward, sir!" "Fastforward!" "Fastforwarding, sir!") Eh, no kidding. You're beyond a natural. That was incredible. * Miya laughs nervously. She doesn't look particularly tired at all, though she was all over the place, and once she got used to the idea of stealing the ball, constantly did it. "I guess?" * Max sits up. "Th-thirty-two to twelve." * Claire looks up. "Hmm? Is it over?" That was so awesome! Miya, you rule. * Harry sits the whole time and eats, watching the game. I'll be on your team any time you want me. * AlexD grins. You just sat and watched! ...though I'm not sure standing on the backboard to drop a shot in is - technically- legal, it was fun to watch you do it, Miya-sweetie. * Miya blushes. She looks at the ground. If you can do that, though, you're probably a good partner for my favorite sport. }:) (That's it, I'm getting Eric flight officially.) Ever raced along telephone lines? * Miya looks up. "Huh? Um, in the danger room once..." * AlexD stretches. "That was major fun. I worked up a pretty good sweat. Think I'll take a shower." Definitely gotta do this again soon. I'll see you guys in a bit! * Max stands up. The grasschair vanishes! * Miya smiles a little and waves. "Okay. Bye." See ya later! So. What now? * AlexD waves to the crew and heads back to his room. (And Betty, when you call me ... you will ... YOU WILL CALL ME KOMPRESSOR) * Miya shrugs. She runs a hand through her hair. She's sweating a bit, too, though she doesn't seem bothered by it. * Max pulls up his hood. "I uh, ought to go. Um I need to get a jump on uh the C-count of Monte Cristo." Sure? Have fun man. * Miya blinks at Max. "Oh. Okay." * Harry pulls himself off the ground and lifts the basket, stuffing the book into it along with the water bottle. "See ya, Max." * Sally strides off a short distance, well within earshot but downwind of the group, and pulls out a long, black stem-like thing. Then she afixes a cigarette to one end of it, lights up, and takes a pull on it. When she blows it out, she manages three perfectly concentric smoke rings. ( Everybody needs to grab a copy of 3M and read the first chapter by next mini. ) (Ha.) (I've already read it! Ha!) * Max waves, in a small manner, then ducks inside. The bushes as he pass turn into flying saucers. ( Not going to happen. I don't know where my copy is. ) ( http://www.online-literature.com/dumas/threemusketeers/ ) (The whole thing.) * Miya looks at the bushes blankly before shaking her head. * Claire stays outside, floating and reading (I gotta go buy razor blades! FOR RAZOR KAT!) (WOO.) * Harry eyes Max's saucers. "I'd bet something's on _HIS_ mind. Whatever those are." * Eric walks over to Sally and watches the smoke rings. He makes a toy plane fly through them and smiles. "You're good at blowing smoke rings?" They look like alien spaceships? * Sally smiles, gesturing a bit with her cigarette holder. "If I do say so myself, yes. I've practiced. Won't be happy until I can tie my smoke trail in knots, though." She winks from behind her mirror-shades. * Alex stretches a little, looking satisfied. ... That's what they're supposed to be? ... I guess so? * Miya tilts her head at the saucers, still puzzled. I think I'm gonna go grab a shower, maybe start on the book. Um, okay. Bye Other Alex. * Sally waves her death stick in farewell to Alex. * Alex heads off to grab a shower and read. See ya later Axster. * Eric nods and snickers. "Knots you say? How are you gonna manage that?" He winks back. * Harry just shakes his head at the saucers, coughing a few times as he does so. Not sure yet. I'm heading inside. The bright light out here's giving me a headache. See you guys later. *saunters off towards the nearest shade, and fades out. The more observant can catch sight of a cat scurrying towards the nearest entrance to the mansion* * Eric sees her off. "Have fun." He starts walking torwards the garage. "I'm gonna work on my ride. Catchya later Miya." * Miya waves distractedly at Sally. Saucers. The heck. "Okay." She looks around. Very few people left. * Claire stops floating and heads over to whoever's left. Which is apparently just Miya. "So, have fun?" (No, I'm still there, worthless lump though I am.) * Miya blinks, then turns to Claire. She grins. "Yeah! It was lots of fun. Did you win?" ( Make fun of Bomberman, will you? >.< ) * Eric does the walking away thing! (I make fun of RPing it without talking. ^_~) Sort of. I got to the world of water. But I was mostly concentrating on reading the book. I hope the professor doesn't mind, but I read, uh, a bit more than the first few chapters. ... Oh. * Miya looks a little crestfallen, for some reason. * Claire pats Miya on the shoulder. "Don't worry, the book is actually rather enjoyable once you get into it." This is the third time I've had to read it. * Miya nods. "Okay." She looks at Harry. "Did you read it, too?" * Harry blinks, then smiles a little and shakes his head. "Like, a page or two. Couldn't really focus." Oh. * Miya bites her lip for a moment, then ventures, "How did the doctor thing go?" * Harry frowns. "It's another cold. A cold. In summer." He rubs his head and grabs his hair, pulling at it a little in annoyance. "I think I'm the only person in the world to get summer colds." Not really? I got one before. Really? * Miya nods. "Yeah. It was right before a meet. Headache and sniffles and stuff." Can't say it's ever happened to me. * Miya makes a face. "You don't want it to." * Harry nods a little at Claire. "Nobody else ever gets them. Well, except Miya, I guess." Head turns back to Miya. "A meet? Who were you meeting?" * Claire shrugs. "Better me than you. A little cold wouldn't stop me from playing my games, but it might stop you from playing yours." * Harry coughs lightly, but tries to stay looknig at people. ( Harry therefore coughs in our faces. ) (Hey, I know better than that! >_<) * Miya blushes. "Um, no. Gymnastics meet. Like... a game? Kind of?" * Harry blinks. "Oh! Gymnastics." Beat. "Sorry, I haven't seen any gymnastics for years. I wasn't thinking... well." * Miya fidgets. "It's okay. I mean, if you want, I can show you." * Harry looks around and smiles nervously, "Well, not here, I'd think." Oh, no! Sometime. Um. I still practice. Even if... * Miya sort of trails off. She looks at Claire. Um... Well, we could go to the danger room? * Harry looks over at Claire too! * Miya blinks, then smiles. "Okay." She thinks. * Claire is looked at. She says nervously, "Uh... I mean... I'm sure we could set it up like a gym room, or... something." (And instead they activate Danger Room Scenario #3.) (Oops!) No, it's okay. I'll teleport us there? One at a time, I mean, but I can! Sure. * Harry blinks. "You can do that? Huh." * Miya nods and smiles. "Yeah. Just not both of you at the same time. See." She grabs Claire by the hand, and they vanish in a flash, leaving Harry all alone! * Harry rubs his head, then sighs. His hair and eyes go to brown and green again, and his skin lightens up. * Miya reappears on Harry's other side, grabs him by the hand, and the next thing he knows, he's in the control room. Ey! Wha-- Um. Sorry? * Miya lets go. * Harry looks around and figures out where he is. "Nah, was just suprised." * Miya nods. "Okay." She dropped Claire off there, too! Handy. * Claire is here! * Harry peers to see if there's anyone in the danger room. Like, say, the X-Men. [ Nope! z.z ] (This is starting to wear me out. Want to call it, or shall I have Miya go do some routines while you guys watch and talk? ;P) ( Either or. Harry's not very talkative to Claire, though. :( ) (I'm sure he will be once you have to talk! ^^) (They don't exactly have much in common at the moment. ^_~) * Miya looks at the controls. "Um, okay... how do I set this up." She pokes at the controls a bit, then asks helplessly, "Claire?" ( I GOT RAZORS) (OMG.) * Claire peers. "I... I'm not sure. I've never actually use this before..." (ST. LUKES GERIATRIC WARD, I GIVE YOU... RAZOR KAT!) You haven't? But it's like the best video game ever! Well, I've seen it, and I think Eric explained it once, but... Maybe tomorrow, Hank can run it for us? That's a good idea. We'll ask him about it. * Harry nods. "After we get done talking about the book, maybe." * Miya grins. She had a good idea! "Okay." It's a good book. * Harry looks nervous. "Most books are." That's not true. * Harry shakes his head. "Most of the ones I've read are. Maybe I just haven't read enough." He sighs slightly, then coughs. "Well, I guess we'll see about tomorrow, if we don't run into eachother, which we probably will anyway." (Damn you to hell, Yu. Now I have to read the actual book.) * Miya laughs a little. "Yeah. For a big house, it feels kinda... um, small, sometimes. Just all the people." Well, you know where I'll probably be. * Miya nods. "Yeah." She smiles a little. "Want to be dropped off there? I'm gonna take a shower." * Harry rubs his arms. "Yeah, it does." He smiles a little at Claire's statement. Sure. I can play more Zelda. Okay. Want to go somewhere too, Harry? * Harry blinks. "Uh? Oh, um... my room, I guess." * Miya blinks. "I dunno where that is." * Harry rattles off. "It's four rooms west and across the hall from yours." Beat. "I think." ... Okay. I'll take Claire first, just in case we end up swimming by accident. * Miya holds her hand out to Claire. * Claire takes Miya's hand. * Miya vanishes in a flash of white! So does Claire. Two large cameras going off at once. * Harry blinks his eyes at the flash, then braces himself early. * Miya reappears next to Harry and holds her hand out to him. * Harry untenses and smiles nervously. "Thought you were gonna surprise me again." * Harry reaches out and grabs on. Um. It's not a surprise if you're ready for it. * Miya vanishes, Harry with her. They reappear in the hall before her room. * Harry blinks, then chuckles nervously. "Guess that's easiest." He looks around, then points at his room. "Yeah, it was that one." ( Is it true? Potter fainted at Miya's teleportation? ) (My teleportation causes seizures.) Okay. (I did not faint! Or have a seizure!) * Miya drops Harry's hand. She points out hers. "That's mine. But, um. I think you know that already?" * Harry coughs once, then says, "Uh, yeah. I like to figure out where things are before I really need to know. Especially when I'm bored." * Harry looks back towards his room. "So, thanks." He shakes the basket at Miya. "Time to read, right?" * Miya smiles a little and pushes her bangs off of her forehead. They were plastered from sweat. "Shower first, I think. Then, um. Yeah." * Harry nods. "Alright. Enjoy!" He waves the basket at her again. * Miya waves back, apparently not thinking the basket's odd at all. She heads into her room... through the door, proving she doesn't teleport *everywhere*. * Harry walks back to his room. And he goes through the door too! Because he can't teleport. [And we'll end here. So end!]
