* Eric walks out of the boathouse and starts torwards the mansion. Sally's still in his arms and he's petting her, the book being held in a small pack he made on the spot and slung over his back. Eh, so, what do you want to do now that we're not bothering Miya? * Eric rubs Sally's head with his index finger. purrrr... mmm.. dunno. I was gonna see if --puurr..-- anyone wanted to play pool. I'm not very good, but...puurrrrr.... * Eric smiles. "I could teach you." He snickers. "That's gotta be really comfortable." * CheshireCat grins lazilly, purring. "That'd be nice....and you've nooo idea......" It's settled then. I'll get a pool table set up when we get back. ^_^ Oh yeah..(purr) You could to that, couldn't you. * CheshireCat [grins]. 'course I can. ^_^ * Eric grins back. Eh, so, what else do ya like to do? Various things... when I first got my car, I spent lots on gas, just driving it 'round. I'm a night-bird; clubbing's fun, when you can find clubs that'll let ya in. Taunting anti-muties was sort of a hobby -- puurrrthere'sgooodpurrr-- towards the end of my time in Chicago.... * Eric pets there, then. "Eh, you don't sleep either?" purrrrrrrrrrr oh, I sleep....jus' don't sleep until morning, giv'n the choice. Been tryin' to get into a day schedual here, for school, you know. ( Couldn't justify Spec Def: Sleep L2. I've since come up with a mutant who'd have it...but Eternal wouldn't be as much -fun- as Cheshire. ) (Eric's got it as a secondary power.) (You could easily justify it as, well, a secondary. Lots of muties have them, actually. ^^;) (Rather like Miya's reflexes being secondary. ^_~) ( Don't have the CP left at the moment, either. Though, since background may yield a social defect or two, that's something to consider. Eh. ) (I'd suggest it. Sally looks like the type who *would* have it.) So you don' sleep? Dreaming's so much fun, though. ( Actually, I know how to justify it, too. Since cat and human form are co-extant...they can sleep independantly. ) Eh, I slept when I was younger, but... I've gotten out of the habit. With school, making my car run, sports... It's just been a lot of stuff, ya know. *purrr* sports, huh? What's your sport of choice? Hockey. Sport of the great white north, eh? Oh, of course. *chuckles. It's a rather unusual sound, coming from a purring cat* And there's Curling. That's a hard sport. * CheshireCat squirms a bit, positioning herself for more easy access to the spots she wants petted. "Curling?" * Eric lets her and pets her there. "Take bowling, put it on ice, add brooms and a target, have everyone throw on the same alley, and you have curling." * CheshireCat [GRINS]. "Now THAT sounds like fun. Though I'd be terrible at it without powers." *purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrs as he hits the right spot just behind her ear* It is. Alex's too afraid to try it out, though. And you don't have it here in the states. * CheshireCat looks up as Eric has to shift his hold on her to open the door to the mansion. "Ah, we're back. Where d'ya wanna set up the pool table?" * Eric chuckles. "Eh, I could put it in the pool, but that's too ironic for me. Wanna play outside?" * Eric steps in, looking for a possibly good place to put it inside, too. The outside thing is more of a joke, really. * CheshireCat hops down out of his arms, fading as she falls. * CheshireCat is now known as Sally * Sally steps around Eric, and heads for the entry hall. She seems to remember plenty of room there. * Eric finds an optimum place that's out of the way, but still has plenty of room, and *poof* a pool table appears, with a set of cues, billiard balls, and a triangle. Oh, excellent. *claps briefly* So, um, you want to set it up? *leans a bit uncertainly on the side of the table* * Eric goes about setting it up. "Sure. You know how to play 8-ball?" One of us has to hit the stripes in, the other has to hit the colored ones in, right? Yup. The first one to hit the ball in determines who gets what. * Sally nods. "Okay." * Sally picks up a cue-stick, and holds it kind of like a staff. "You want to break?" * Eric rolls them back and forth. "Nah, you go ahead." ^_^ * Sally goes to stand on the correct side of teh table, thinks a moment before placing the cue ball in the correct location, then gives it a light tap. It knocks into the triangle of balls, but doesn't break 'em up much. * Eric hmmms... and lines up a shot, hitting the ball and breaking the balls up a bit further. None go in, but no easy shot is evident. * Sally looks serious for a moment, considering, then moves to an awkward angle and makes a shot that might be intended to knock something in...but really just scatters a couple. There is a stripe and a solid that are left as easy shots, though. * Eric grins. "Shouldn't we be studying?" * Eric knocks the stripe in, and using his second shot knocks it to the middle of nowhere. I already read the first chapter. *sticks her tongue out between her teeth, thinking, before making a shot to try to sink a solid. It winds up just lining up another stripe* * Eric goes over to the shot. "Eh, you gotta be careful. Remember that where you end is where the other player starts their shot. If you give them a harder shot, it's not likely they'll knock their ball in." He makes this shot in one as well, then fires so that there are two solids lined up for moderate shots. * Sally nods, and goes to take what looks like the easier of the two. She actually knocks it in...along with another stripe. "That's three for you, but I got one in, at least." * Eric waits for a few seconds. "Eh, you go again after you sink one of yours." Doesn't matter if you sink mine. Just don't sink the 8 ball. Oh, right. *winks at Eric* * Eric winks back. * Sally moves over to the cue ball, still a bit uncertainly, and shoots the cue ball to the middle of nowhere, leaving no good shots at all. The first one already? Eh, that's some quick reading, since it's all in older tongue. * Eric grins. "See? Now you've got it." I'm a quick study. * Eric starts counting the diamonds on the side of the table and does some calculations in his head. He shoots and the ball bounces around the table, finding its final resting place in the middle of two stripes. * Sally just walks over to take a shot that messes up his careful planning. No easy shots again. * Eric hmmms... and does another bank shot, this time sinking a stripe. He then knocks the cue next to the 8-ball. I guess I could read the book tonight. Not much else I can do... I do most of my dreaming in school. ^^; *chuckles* I know how that is. I do most of my reading at night, too. It's nice to do it without these *taps her sunglasses* on. * Sally studies the table a bit more than is really necessary, as if uncertain, then takes another shot that sinks two balls: once again, a stripe and a solid. "Oops...hm..." She takes her second shot, this time slipping up at the last second and sending the cue ball lightly teetering in the wrong direction...barely knocking in another stripe. Unfortunately for Eric, sinking the last stripe will now put... ...the cue ball in entirely the wrong place to take a shot at the eight ball. * Eric hmmms... and knocks the cue away from them and into a pack of solids. Unfortunately for Sally, the solids make it nearly impossable to get a good angle to hit the ball. ...why didn't you sink yours? Eh, it'd have given you a series of clean shots. I couldn't hit the 8 in easily from there, and you would have had at least two easy shots after that. Good thinking. I was afraid you might be going easy on me. That wouldn't be any fun. *[GRINS]* * Eric smiles back. "Don't learn anythin' if I go easy on ya." ~_^ * Sally saunters over to one side of the table, and leans over gracefully, lining up her cue stick with the cue ball, and delivering a sharp *TAP* to it. A three balls get hit in its ricochet'd path, one sinking and another two lined up nicely to be sunk next. * Sally then moves around, and takes a position at a nearly 90 degree angle with the apparently easy two-ball shot, and shoots the cue ball at a wierd angle to bounce off a side, sink a ball, ricochet to sink another, and land almost back where it started. Only then does she take the easy shot to sink those two. Finally, she shoots it back to where it was on Eric's last turn, with an easy stripe and an impossible 8-ball. * Sally [grins] again. * Eric laughs. "I knew you were a shark." * Sally [grins]. "Da-dun," she sings, in the opening two notes of the JAWS theme. Your shot, dear. Just remember, putting the cue ball in the middle of a mass of your opponent's balls is like surrounding a marine with enemy soldiers. Suddenly, it's a target-rich environment. ( *snerks* ) * Eric hmmms, and looks around the pool. He fires off his cue harder than normal, the cue hammering the last stripe in with more force than necessary, but resulting in the ball moving to a surprisingly managable position to hit the 8- ball in. He points at the other one. "In the corner pocket." He shoots, but is off and the ball bounces to the side of the 8-ball. Drat. I thought you might win that for a moment. *calmly lines up her shot, bending over the table in an almost-suggestive way, and shoots the cue ball right at one of the side-walls. It bounces off one, off another, and sinks her remaining solids while ending in a perfect, easy straight-shot for the 8- ball. Which she takes* Good game, Eric. Sorry about fooling you. ^_^ Please don't tell anyone; I'd like to try to make some money at this in the City, and having friends who're convinced you're a newbie is a great way to start it. *[GRIN]* * Eric smiles. "Eh, that's just part of the game. Wait, you play pool?" He winks at her. ~_^ Only a litte. You hit the white ball with the poles, right? ^_~ Yeah, and you try and get the colorful ones in without knocking the big black one. ~_^ Oh! Thanks for the lesson, Teach! But now, you should probably go study. See ya later, Eric. *waves jauntily as she saunters off, [grining]* * Eric chuckles. "I'd be more concerned if I hadn't read it already." The table vanishes and he goes about doing other stuff. [END!]
