Tri-Stat dX Divine Relationship attribute revision By Zegon Destructacon Cost: X/4 CP/level, X/4+1 CP/level, or X/4+2 CP/level Relevant Stat: Soul Required PMVs: None Optional PMVs: None Progression: Linear, +1 re-roll/time period/level Reductions: None Restrictions: Time limitation; combat checks; stat/skill checks The cost of Divine Relationship, unlike many things, rounds up fractions. So, going by lowest costs, in a d4 game it costs 1 CP/level, d6 and d8 games it costs 2 CP/level, and in a d10 or 12 game it costs 3 CP/level. Divine relationship permits the re-roll of one dice roll per time period for the benefit of the character. If it is actual intervention of a deity, reality alteration, luck, or extermely quick reflexes and information gathering is up to the player and the GM to decide. The number of re-rolls are limited by a time-period based in-game. A good standard to go by is by the day or rest period. Other systems of measurement are by mission, by session, by number of dice rolls made by the character, or even by location. Some GMs permit the Divine Relationship re-rolling of critical failures and successes, while others don't. Be sure to clarify with your GM if they are not permitting such re-rolls. The character must take the re-roll, even if it is worse than the original roll. For an extra level, they may take any roll among the rolls. For X/4 CP/level, the dice roll has to be one the character makes and is conscious about. For X/4+1 CP/level, the dice roll can be any dice roll that directly affects the character, or any dice roll the character is conscious about. For X/4+2 CP/level, the dice roll can be any dice roll in the game. Many GMs (myself included) hide dice rolls from players. If this is the case and the player wishes to purchase the X/4+2 or X/4+1 CP version, then asking the GM to re-roll a dice is a valid request. In that case, it applies to either a recently rolled dice that hasn't come into play yet or the next roll the GM makes that applies. The player may also specify what type of conditions must occur for the DR re-roll to take place. For example, a valid statement is 'If the enemy rolls an attack that is under a value of 8 after modifiers' is a valid statement. An invalid statement is 'If the enemy hits me,' as that also requires a roll to occur after the initial re-roll was supposed to take place. Normally you take the latter of the re-rolls. But, if they can take any roll among the rolls, then they simply know of the numbers without modifications. The GM need not explain what the rolls are for or what the modifications are.
