Heightened awareness represents a supernatural ability to percieve things
around you, often beyond the realm of human senses or even before they happen.
Heightened Awareness is not linked to a particular sense, but instead to all
senses.

Each level in Heightened Awareness gives the character a -1 bonus on all Spot
checks.  Heightened Awareness also applies to all senses, even sixth senses.
For a more focused form of awareness, Heightened Senses gives just that.

Heightened Awareness only applies if the character is actively using it.  As
stated earlier, heightened awareness is capable of picking up things beyond the
normal human spectrum of senses.
