Tri-Stat dX Shapechange attribute By Zegon Destructacon Cost: 1 point/level Relevant Stat: Body Required PMVs: None Optional PMVs: Area, Duration, Targets, Range Progression: Linear; +1 visible adjustment type Reduction: None Restrictions: Under certain conditions; for specific targets; naked form only; cannot change back easily This attribute permits the changing of one part of the appearance the character has to another. This attribute is a dynamic and subtle one, and thus very commonly possessed by wizards, tricksters, doppelgangers, and other mythical creatures. This attribute can also be attributed to a 'moldable' body type too. Each level permits the changing of one type of physical feature of the character. These changes are purely cosmetic, and do not confer any mechanical bonuses. Every two levels of shapechange used permits the character to increase or decrease their appearance or unappealing level by one point when they change. Shapechanging cannot change your general body type. It also cannot change your mass by more than 20% or your height by more than 20%. Those affected retain their own minds, so telepathy can commonly detect when someone is shapechanged (the mental patterns don't match up). Attempting to shapechange someone else requires the targets PMV, at minimum. It also requires the duration PMV, to determine how long the change lasts. Those affected get a resistance roll using either body or soul adjusted by physical conditioning or spiritual resistance. Of course, those affected can also simply let the change happen. To effect targets at a range, you must make a 'use powers' attack roll to do so. This does not count as an attack, however. Common visible adjustment types are: Eyes, hair, skin tone/color, skin type, height, gender, mass, age, ears, nose, mouth, facial structure, and girth. GMs and players are free to come up with more if they wish. The full doppelganger effect should cost no more than 10 character points.
