San Rules Tristat d6 system 40 CP 30 SP Your principle stat starts at 2 automatically. It must remain at least 2 points higher than your highest other stat. Therefore, if your principle stat is body, your mind is 5 and your soul is 4, your body stat must be at least 7. Add +20 to your HP and EP values. It's like a free level of tough and Energy Bonus! -Skills- Occult/Horror Skillset Heavy Weapons is not allowed. Period. Special Ranged Attack costs 5 SP per level. Archery costs 4 SP per level. Acrobatics costs 4 SP per level. Sports costs 2 SP per level. -Attributes- Anything BUT the following is restricted at character creation: * Appearance * Attack Combat Mastery * Defensive Combat Mastery * Divine Relationship * Extra Attacks * Extra Defenses * Extra Energy * Gadgets * Henchmen * Heightened Awareness (1 level only) * Highly Skilled * Massive Damage * Organizational Ties * Tough * Wealth Divine Relationship can be used once per level between rest periods. Wealth Costs 1 CP per level. Appearance costs 1 CP per level, and works like this: Level 0 = Plain looking; no outstanding features. Level 1 = Some attractive features; doesn't really stand out. Level 2 = Somewhat more attractive; certainly does stand out. Level 3 = Very attractive; likely turns heads. Level 4 = Extremely attractive; instant center of attention. -Defects- Most defects are allowed, except for those that don't apply to normal humans. However, "Marked" is not allowed. -Additional Rules- Shock value will be used, as will critical injury. In this game, it is calculated by dividing your total HP by 5, then adding +10. The extra +10 is not normal; the PCs are more durable than normal humans. Psych effects will be used. Psych affects a character's ability to react when confronted with unspeakable horrors or phobias. It is a straight soul roll. Energy points can be burned to allow bonuses to rolls. For 5 EP, you can add a -1 bonus to any roll. This is not cumulative; you can only do it once per roll. Falling below half of your total EP gives you a +1 penalty to all actions. Falling below 25% gives you a +2. -Recovery- The PCs recover HP at the rate of their body + soul, and EP at the rate of their mind + soul. This is not the normal rate of recovery for humans; it's much faster. -Setting- It's November, 2010. The place is Izumo, Japan. The city apparently became a hot spot somehow, and migration has boosted the population from roughly 90000 residents to more than 160000. As a result, the city expanded quite a bit, and the center of it deffinately has the big city feel. That being said, much of the countryside remains a tourist attraction, as Izumo is home to some very scenic country side. Izumo is also home to Morikawa High, a three-story high school at the edge of the city. It's a nice school with a unique design: from the outside it looks like a Victorian building. The campus is pretty large, populated with numerous cherry blossom trees. There's even a small lake for the students to relax by. The school is fairly prestigeous but still affordable. As such it gets a mixture of students from both rich and poor families. There's some notable bullying that goes on, particularly from the rich, as the teachers are afraid to do anything about them lest their parents cause them to lose their jobs. Crime has risen somewhat with the increase in population. Petty theft and vandalism are the most common normal problems. And then there's the murders. Within the past year, Izumo has been stalked by a serial killer, a sadist who mutilates his victims so badly it's often hard to identify them. Especially when pieces of the bodies go missing. Police have admitted they have no idea who could be responsible, although they are reassuring the public that they are doing everything in their power to capture him. But this has not earned them any pleasant criticism from the press. Three students are in the middle of their first term, unaware that they are different from normal people. They're speshial. They're.... the main characters!
